The battle. There is tremendous growth in the battle. The victory is won by complete surrender, reliance, and life sustaining intercession from Jesus.

I saw this quote and it was straight 🔥. “Who you are becoming is more important than who you’ve been.” So True! We should never want to stop growing, learning, and becoming exactly who God created us to be! ❤️

Stay in the fight. Stay in the hard. Stay in when you want to retreat!

A beautiful reminder for women. ❤️

Sunday: An Empty Tomb HE HAS RISEN!

Mary Magdalene goes to the tomb to anoint the body of Jesus.

But she finds a rolled away stone and an empty grave.

So she asks who she thinks is the gardener –

“Tell me where you’ve put Him and I will go get His body”

Then she hears “Mary”

And that was enough.

She may not have recognized His appearance –

But she recognized His voice.

She goes to tell the disciples.

Jesus gives them instructions –

“Go tell the world about me.”

But I wonder –

Where was Mary Magdalene in the midst of the grieving and the mourning?

I imagine she was right there with them just as she had been through a lot of His ministry.

He healed her too after all.

I imagine she just wanted to be close to Jesus but was always a helping hand to the journey as well.

I feel like, as a woman, she was important in so many ways that maybe she couldn’t see at the time.

But the disciples have this profound role in a different way.

The honor of being called as His chosen ones, His best friends, inner circle.

I truly believe the same came of Mary finding the empty tomb and being the first to encounter Jesus’ risen body.

Mary received that honor, and I don’t think it was by accident.

She was the first to see and feel the hope they’d all been longing for.

I’ll be honest, sometimes I feel unimportant.

Complacent in my roles. Itching for the next thing.

But the empty tomb is a reminder for me that with one word from His still small voice, just as He spoke to Mary –

Jesus is there.

He hasn't forgotten me, I am important.

I find myself wondering if we can see the Mary moments in our own life?

The roles we’re given can sometimes feel small in the grand scheme of things.

Like we’re just a piece of the background noise that no one would notice was gone.

But to Jesus, you’re important.

He sees you.

He’s chosen to put you in places, with people, for a reason.

For a purpose.

But I think it’s up to us to keep our head in the game.

Step outside of ourselves, see the big picture.

And to be thankful for where we are, the role we have to play.

Mary was always important to Jesus.

She stayed “in the background” if you will for such a long time, but was always faithful.

Always doing what she could.

But she was still important.

And then her moment came, she was blessed with the honor of seeing Him first.

The first to encounter a risen Savior.

I imagine He felt safe enough with her to do that.

Are we following Jesus so faithfully in the small ways, in our smaller roles, that Jesus feels safe entrusting us with bigger plans?

Are we stewarding our children, our spouses, being Godly examples to our coworkers, the people we encounter in passing?

Are we giving our all for the small roles and recognizing that even those in the background, without all the notoriety, are just as important to Jesus?

Because you are.

Being thankful for where we are, what Jesus has given us, and looking around to see how we can be helpful to Jesus right where we are –

It’s important.

I imagine Mary was content, happy just being with Jesus on the journey.

Just being in His presence, not needing validation with a big fancy role like the disciples.

Are we?

I wonder – what was it like to be in the shoes of Mary?

HE IS RISEN!!!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

It’s Sunday.

Mary Magdalene and some friends head to the tomb to anoint Jesus’ body. When they arrive the stone is rolled away.

The tomb is empty.

An Angel appears and tells them - Don’t be afraid. I know you’re looking for Jesus but he isn’t here. He’s risen from the dead, just as he promised he would.

A risen Jesus has walked out.

Fearful but joyful all the same, the women go to tell the disciples as instructed.

Along the way Mary encounters Jesus. Jesus assures her - don’t be afraid. He sends her back on her way to inform the disciples.

Mary finds the disciples and insists Jesus is alive. They’re doubtful. But, just as he said he would, Jesus reveals himself to the disciples.

He gives them these instructions - go out unto the nations and preach the good news. Teach them to obey the commandments I have given. Those who believe will be saved and those who refuse to believe will be condemned. And remember, I am with you always.

Jesus ascends into Heaven. He sits down at the right hand of the father. He remains there today.

Death couldn’t handle him.
The grave couldn’t hold him.

He’s alive. Risen. King of kings. Lord of lords.

A promise fulfilled.

Do you know him?

Today is Sunday. Thank you Jesus, for Sunday.

It’s Friday.

Jesus is in custody.

Judas is ridden with guilt. He returns the silver, his betrayal payment, and hangs himself.

Religious leaders deliver Jesus to Pilate, the governor. Each Passover, Pilate releases one prisoner to the crowd. Barabbas, a prisoner guilty of theft, insurrection and murder, is brought in.

Pilate asks Jesus - are you the king of the Jews? Jesus confirms.

Pilate asks the crowd who to release. Barabbas.

He asks what he should do with Jesus, they shout - Crucify him. Crucify him.

Jesus is delivered to the soldiers. They place a crown of thorns on his head. They mock him, beat him, strip him of his clothes.

They head for Golgotha. Jesus bears the burden of carrying his own cross. He is too weak. Simon, a passerby, takes the cross and carries it on Jesus’ behalf.

Jesus, spotless and innocent, is hung on the cross. A nail in each hand and a nail in his feet. A sign is placed above his head reading - King of the Jews.

They mock him, insult him, spit on him, pierce his side with a sword.

Hours of agony pass. Jesus cries out - Father, forgive them. Jesus, in his final moments, prays mercy over his enemies that they may come to know and believe in him.

With one final cry Jesus proclaims - it is finished.

Jesus hangs his head. He gives up the ghost. The veil of the temple is torn, top to bottom, in two.

Joseph takes Jesus’ body. He wraps him in clean linens. He places him in a tomb, a borrowed tomb, belonging to Joseph. He seals the tomb with a stone.

With that, the plan for salvation is complete.

Sin, paid for. Debt, paid for. A promise of hope, mercy, forgiveness, eternal life. Free, if we’ll just trust him. Believe in him.

It’s Friday. But Sunday is coming. ❤️

How does a person get a fresh vision of Jesus? You answer His call.❤️

Say YES when you don’t know the outcome.
Say YES to His prompting of change.
Say YES to that ministry opportunity.
Say YES to that life change you need to make.
Say YES even when you are afraid or unsure.
Say YES when He offers you forgiveness.
Say YES to His invitation for a relationship with Him. He is calling you.

My greatest seasons of growth have been when I have said YES to Jesus. I grew in my relationship and how I know Him and received fresh vision of sight.

Today, I say YES again. ❤️

“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.” John 15:16

This! 🔥 I have had so many God ordained conversations over the past week about this very topic!

You see, our God is Sovereign. Our God is faithful to complete the good work in you. Our God is loving and patient in the seasons we say no. Our God is more than enough to be your provider and sustainer when you say YES!

When satan tries to tell you that God has abandoned you - you tell him - you are a liar!

When satan tries to tell you that God can’t do it - you tell him - you are a liar!

When satan tries to tell you that God is angry with you and will no longer hear your cry for help or your prayers - you tell him - you are a liar!

When satan tries to tell you that you will never be able to move forward - you tell him - you are a liar!

When satan tries to tell you that you can’t do it, you will fail, you aren’t worthy of the blessing - you tell him - YOU are a liar!

We need to get really good at confronting the lies of the enemy. Speak the words out loud against him. Proclaim your victory - whatever that is and needs to be for your life. ❤️

I have lived one of the most incredible weeks of my life this week. I prayed this morning and praised God for lifting a subtle heaviness that had been with me for years. So subtle I didn’t know it was there until it was gone. He spoke to me - “you had become a skeptic”.

I realized that was true. You see, when we are not careful satan uses past hurts, wounds, doubts, and fears as a strategy of distraction and lack of faith. Over time, it slowly (I mean so slowly you don’t realize it has happened) corrupts your heart.

Did you know that skepticism is described as this - “noun. an attitude of questioning, disbelief, or doubt.” Oh my goodness - my skepticism has become a part of ME. My attitude. My confidence. How I viewed so many things. How I went into situations with a predetermined posture of doubt. I fell to my knees. I am so so so very sorry Lord. Forgive me.

Friends, satan is never in your face with his deceptions. They are always behind the scenes, lurking, planting seeds of doubt and death.

What God revealed to me was that skepticism actually does this:

Makes us doubt God’s voice.
Makes us doubt God’s goodness.
Makes us doubt God’s plans.
Makes us doubt God’s ability to bless.
Makes us doubt God’s calling on our lives.
Makes us doubt God’s new beginnings for us.
Makes us doubt God’s strength.
Makes us doubt God’s provision.
Makes us doubt God’s word.

Now, I am not talking about:

Biblical, God given discernment.
Calling out lies and giving truth.
Thoughts that prompt you to seek God for confirmation.

I’m talking about repetative skeptical thoughts that create a skeptic and blocks you from believing something God has for your life.

That has been my season. And that bo***ge is broken, in the name of Jesus Christ my Lord.

If this is you, pray that God show you. Repent. And then receive your new sight. ❤️
