$8k worth of repairs found, Why every home inspection should get a sewer scope inspection. I find damages on new homes, resale homes and old homes.
Video shows the damage from a root ball which may have blocked solids from getting to the septic.
If we find damages while video scoping, I can locate the damage with disturbing the soil and flag it. With every sewer scope inspection, I do with a home inspection I include a 6-month warranty. For less than $250 with a home inspection this inspection can potentially save you thousands of dollars. If you need a sewer scope inspection with another inspector or as a stand alone I do those as well. Fully insured and Certified. Big changes are coming to wind mitigation inspections here in Florida.
It’s something every homeowner and real estate professional should be aware of! The state is rolling out a new wind mitigation form, and one of the biggest updates is the creation of a centralized database for all insurance inspection reports. This means every wind mitigation report will now be tracked and stored at the state level. Why does this matter? ✔️ Helps prevent fraud and altered reports ✔️ Creates more consistency across inspections ✔️ Gives insurance companies verified, reliable data ✔️ Protects homeowners from inaccurate or misleading information While this is a great step toward transparency, it also means inspections will need to be more detailed and accurate than ever before. As always, we stay ahead of these changes to make sure our clients get the most accurate reports and the credits they deserve. If you have questions about how the new form could impact your insurance or upcoming inspection, please do not hesitate to call me. I can also come into your office and review the changes 386.532.4677 https://www.residentialinspectionfla.com/wind-mitigation.html

Crawling into an attic is so important need get as far as I can plus it my version of contortion exercise.
Information from Residential Inspection LLC
When sewer disposal gases (often simply called sewer gas) enter an attic, they can cause health issues, structural damage, and potential safety hazards. This usually occurs because a plumbing vent pipe was never properly extended through the roof or has a leak behind a wall.
Immediate Impacts
Foul Odors: The most obvious sign is a pungent rotten-egg smell caused by hydrogen sulfide.
Pest Attraction: The organic matter and moisture in these gases can attract sewer flies and other pests.
Moisture & Mold: Vent pipes also carry significant humidity. If they terminate in an attic, this moisture can lead to mold growth on rafters and insulation.
