Childrens Theatre Foundation of America invites applications for 2024 Founders Grant - CTFA invites applications for its 2024 Founders Grant. Through the program, a grant of $30,000 will be awarded in support of culminating a ground‐breaking project ready to be shared with the public through production, public display, or publication by a not‐for‐profit theatre. This creative and visionary project should advance the field of theatre for young audiences and serve as a model to address issues of social justice and inclusion. The project should go above and beyond traditional concepts of theatre for young people in terms of content (subject matter, themes explored, non‐traditional characters, etc.), methodology (scripted plays, devised works, immersive experiences, etc.), engagement (partnerships, ancillary events, community engagement), and evaluation (concrete ways to measure impact and success).

Recipients must provide a funding match that is no less than 50 percent of the grant request. Funding can cover production costs including but not limited to travel, artist fees, script commissions, new uses of technology, innovative design applications, extraordinary educational or outreach opportunities, and partnerships between theaters and schools, universities, and diverse communities.

The Adolf Busch Award aims to recognize and honor organizations that use music to address social injustice, inequity, and lack of opportunity. The award will grant $10,000 to one organization each year to support general operating expenses or specific projects, with smaller awards often given to additional compelling applicants. The award will support organizations that focus on nurturing the musical and leadership skills of individuals, focus on systemically disenfranchised segments of the population, engage in grassroots initiatives that promote a pluralistic and equitable society, demonstrate a unique and thoughtful approach to the issues they address, demonstrate a meaningful organizational maturation since inception, and show a rejection of the status quo and a willingness to shape a response to systemic issues in a challenging environment.

The Adolf Busch Award is given out annually to an organization promoting social good through music.
