While we are not currently a member of the GPCC, our sister company is. On behalf of Nelson & Co., we make the following statement:

In response to GPCC's announcement on changing the names of Colony Days and Colony Christmas, ATS Portables would like its customers and potential customers to know that none of the member businesses in Palmer were informed, queried or polled about this decision and ATS Portables does NOT support it.
Our combined families are also generational Alaskans. We learned about the New Deal and midwestern farmers settling the Valley in school. We took field trips to local farms to learn about their agricultural innovations. We grew up with these families and their children that settled this area. We love this community and value their historic significance and contribution to Alaska's agricultural abundance.
The GPCC's Board decision has now made Colony Days a political pariah when it never was before. Many businesses are now joining together to see that these changes do not take place.
