The Rhubarb Revival Contest is Back for Colony Days 2026!

Do you make the best rhubarb jam, pie, dessert, or family recipe in the Valley? Here's your chance to prove it.

Join us for the Rhubarb Revival Contest on Sunday, June 14 at the Palmer Train Depot and celebrate one of the Mat-Su Valley's most iconic crops.

Categories:
• Jams & Jellies
• Baked Goods
• Other Rhubarb Creations
• Kids Division (up to 16 years old)

Prizes:
• Grand Prize: $100 Gift Card
• 1st and 2nd Place Awards in Each Category

Important Times:
• Entry drop-off by 1:00 PM
• Judging begins at 2:00 PM
• Winners announced immediately following judging

Think you and your partner have what it takes?

Join us for the Colony Days 2026 Egg Toss Competition on Saturday, June 13 at 2:30 PM in the Museum Parking Lot.

Teams of two will toss an egg back and forth, taking a step farther apart after each successful catch. Drop the egg, and you're out!

The competition continues until only one team remains. Will you be the last pair standing?

This fun, family-friendly event is a Colony Days favorite and a great way to celebrate our 2026 theme, "Rooted in Community."

ROCK Mat-Su is partnering with Beacon Hill to host a Mat-Su Community Baby Shower in Palmer! This is a FREE, open-to-the-community event, but registration is required.

Each year, the baby showers evolve as the creative minds of community partners find new and exciting ways to meet the three goals of the Community Baby Showers:

1. Celebrate Mat-Su Families and our newest residents
2. Provide an opportunity for parents to connect
3. Allow parents to add new skills to their parenting toolbox

The community baby showers are for Mat-Su families who are expecting or have an infant up to one year old. Every year, we give away up to 250 gift bags that include approximately $100+ worth of baby essentials to help give the family the best start possible.

Additionally, we offer door prize giveaways for participation in activities such as car seats, strollers, gifts for new big brothers or sisters, and other prizes.
