Jeg Coughlin Sr.’s journey began with a simple passion for speed during his high school years, racing a modest 1936 Ford coupe that doubled as his daily driver. His early breakthrough came in 1959 when he won his first national event, signaling the start of a remarkable career in drag racing. From those humble beginnings, he quickly rose to become a dominant force across multiple racing classes.
In 1960, Jeg turned his passion into a business by founding Jeg’s Automotive in Columbus, Ohio.
