We love a family of artists. Father and daughter Heyoka Merrifield and Willow LaLand create gorgeous art to wear with gold, silver, precious and semi-precious stones. The imagery is inspired by myths and legends from around the world, especially mythical and spiritual in nature.
They will be selling their beautiful jewelry in booth #525 at the Palo Alto Festival of the Arts, from 10-6 Aug. 22-23 on University in downtown Palo Alto. Come shop and enjoy all the art, music, food and fun we have in store!

The beautiful art by Palo Alto Festival of the Arts artist Nao Kobayashi of NunoZoo is a collection of completely unique, one-of-kind, handmade fabric animals.
"My hands respectfully play with the oddity, mismatches, and disproportion of the various materials while searching for harmony in new and surprising ways," Nao said.
Originally from Japan and now living in Northern California, her work emerges from an interest in environmental impact and the power of symbolism within personal narratives, informed by her background in costume and puppet fabrication.
Nao predominantly uses recycled materials, using a unique combination of fabric techniques to breathe new life into
leftover textiles, scraps and pre-owned garments.
"While drawing attention to the global issues of material waste, my work simultaneously invites the audience into a personal dialogue, evoking a sense of reunion with cherished childhood imagination." Nao said. "Sewing -- a universally shared skill across cultures -- carries a rich and often unspoken history. I imagine each stitch as a silent prayer passed down through generations, with mending in
particular representing a form of healing."

Palo Alto Festival of the Arts artist Lisa Sanders of Tall Dreams works primarily in mixed media collage art and three-dimensional paper clay vessels. "I am drawn towards the organic nature of both forms, and strive to create pieces that have raw, natural qualities," she said. "Additionally, I bring found objects into my work, particularly to my collages. I believe in the special meaning that found objects can bring when incorporated into to a piece of art."
Long-forgotten pieces of discarded metal, plastic, wood and fabric bring an element of thoughtfulness to her art. "I hope
that this will draw people into thought and reflection when they view my work."

Handcrafted clothing is beautiful and unique, and a great part of the shopping experience at the Palo Alto Festival of the Arts. Jane Mohr of Dress to Kill is a fiber artist who designs edgy Euro styled clothes featuring beautiful international novelty fabrics. She believes that clothing should reflect a woman’s unique style and individuality.
After graduating from Art Center College of Design, Jane moved to Europe where she worked as a stylist and editorial fashion photographer for several international magazines. She then returned to LA, where she began to create her own original designs. Dress to Kill originated as a collection of vintage inspired print dresses. Over the years the line has evolved into a high-end sophisticated collection sold in the most exclusive boutiques.
Jane says the beauty of the collection is that it looks great on all body types.

The beautiful unique art of Saul Yurivilca Jr. of Calivilca Designs is all based on reverse glass painting. He paints landscapes, animals and Day of the Dead designs.
"Coming from a family of artists, I have a desire to create," Saul said, "Since I could remember, I could always draw and I like doing things the hard way. I taught myself how to reverse paint on glass allowing me to draw and paint. I love to work with a variation of colors, and portray art on glass, an ancient tradition, into a new realm."
In Saul's single reverse glass paintings, he can completely paint the glass or incorporate painted metallic paper. His shadow boxes are one or multiple layers of reverse painted glass. The background layer is painted metallic paper.

Continuous live music on multiple stages is a fun component of the Palo Alto Festival of the Arts. When Sheryl and The Pretenders perform on the festival main stage Aug. 22, get ready for an electrifying tribute to two of the most iconic women in rock history!

Sheryl and The Pretenders is the nation’s premier Sheryl Crow and Pretenders tribute band — a powerhouse live act that brings the unmistakable sounds, soul, and swagger of these groundbreaking artists to the stage with stunning precision. Led by the dynamic and charismatic Claudia Sue Conrad, this all-star ensemble features top-tier musicians hailing from New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, and San Francisco. Together, they deliver a wall of sound that’s as tight and polished as it is raw and real — perfectly capturing the laid-back grooves of Sheryl Crow and the edgy bite of The Pretenders.
