Our CEO, Dmytro Ovcharenko, came back from the 2026 Silicon Slopes Tech Summit with that rewarding feeling: “I’m glad I showed up.”
This year, Salt Lake City welcomed Dmytro with this global innovation festival where tech met culture, storytelling, and community.
A few moments that stuck:
✨ Dan Reynolds, frontman of Imagine Dragons, shared that the band never tried to decode the audience or chase pain points. They wrote music for themselves first, and only later realized it resonated with millions. It echoed Steve Jobs's way of thinking, too, enabling him to create groundbreaking products – something that is not possible if you rely only on others' opinions.
Lesson learned: tech startups should use feedback to sharpen the product, but keep their unique vision as the lead.
✨ Mark Cuban, Shark Tank investor and founder of Cost Plus Drugs, and Chris Klomp, Director of Medicare, unpacked US healthcare economics, the cost challenges baked into the system, and what pricing transparency could change.
Lesson learned: when a system is complex, transparency changes decisions.
✨ Jared and Jerusha Hess, filmmakers best known for Minecraft: The Movie, brought storytelling into the conversation about innovation. It landed as a simple truth: narrative is part of leadership.
Lesson learned: if people cannot retell what you are building, they will not fight for it.
💫 These ideas hit home for us at Alcor because we help product companies build tech R&D teams across LATAM and Eastern Europe. And in that work, the same three things decide the outcome: a clear vision, a transparent operating model, and a story people want to be part of.
Huge thanks to Silicon Slopes for the energy and the lineup, and to everyone Dmytro met in Salt Lake City, especially Tiffany Vail, Clint Betts, Valeria Kushnerchuk, and Oleksii Khorosh!
