Gulf World is saddened to announce the loss of Largo, one of our rough-toothed dolphins. Largo stranded during 2005 in the Florida Keys. After her rehabilitation, she was deemed non-releasable by NOAA due to her young age. Gulf World then became her forever home to give her a second chance at life. Largo spent over 15 years entertaining her guests and trainers with her amazingly loud squeals and sticking out her tongue. She absolutely loved getting ice cubes from her trainers! Largo was being treated for chronic gastrointestinal issues, which ultimately caused her passing. Our management would like to thank our incredible animal care and veterinary team. We appreciate the relentless dedication they provide all the animals that call Gulf World their home, and we know how difficult it is to lose a beloved member of that family. Largo was certainly one-of-a-kind, and she will be deeply missed by our guests and our staff alike.
