How can we pray for the next generation today?

Across the world, young people are navigating questions of identity, purpose, faith, belonging, and the future.

As the global church, we have the privilege of praying for them—and of walking alongside them.

Pray for truth, that they would know and love God’s Word.
Pray for community, where they can be known and grow in faith.
Pray for courage to follow Jesus wholeheartedly.
Pray for mentors who will listen, serve, disciple, and stay close.
Pray for mission, that they would discover how God can use their lives for his purposes.

“One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts.” — Psalm 145:4

This weekend, we invited two teenagers and their parents to share their experiences, reflections, and practical insights regarding short-term cross-cultural mission trips in the “Letting Go, or Going Along? The Parent’s Heart in Youth Missions” symposium. One of the teens, Hannah Sun, reflected on her mission trip to Togo in West Africa, sharing a powerful reminder of how stepping out in faith draws us closer to God.

Dear God,

We know you are preparing the way for students, parents, teachers, and school administrators. We pray for students to be excited to learn and that they would experience more of you at school. We pray that schools would be a safe place for students to learn. We pray for teachers and school administrators to be a bright light to the students. Lastly, we pray for parents to shepherd their children well.

Hear from teens about their experiences in the field.
