📍August turned out to be a quieter travel month for Team DPJC—but still plenty happening behind the scenes! Our team has visited: Campbell County, TN • LaFollette, TN • Lexington • Hazard • Frankfort • Louisville

🔎 Here’s what kept us busy:
• Continued providing guidance and investigative support to a private client in a death investigation
• Consulted with law enforcement regarding the potential reinvestigation of a case
• Completed pre-employment background investigations for several long-time municipal clients
• Had the privilege of speaking at the Kids Are Worth It Conference
• Delivered personal safety training for a private company
• Kept the momentum going with planning for the PIofKY Conference
• Charted injury patterns in a death penalty case to help clarify the facts and inform case strategy

Every stop, every conversation, and every case moves our mission forward. We’re grateful for the continued trust in our team at DPJ Consulting and ready to see where the work takes us next!

There is value in networking! A great place to start when getting into the PI world is to find and join your state’s association!

Facebook ate our post from last night, so let's try this again!

August may not have taken us to as many destinations as other months, but it definitely kept our team moving! We logged miles across Lexington, Somerset, Jeffersonville, IN, Elizabethtown, Louisville, Prestonsburg, and Inez — and every stop brought something different.

That’s the thing about private investigative work: no two days look the same. Here are just a few of the interesting things August brought our way:
• Made final preparations for an upcoming trial
• Measured an uneven sidewalk for a client — yes, we do that too!
• Helped a family search for answers after the tragic loss of a loved one
• Reviewed discovery in several new cases
• Completed several client and witness interviews
• Our state contract work always keeps us on our toes
• Provided a rest stop for one of our sleepy creature mascots (peep the racoon!)
• Celebrated David seeing his first elk in the wild!
• Continued planning an investigators conference
• Mentored several people interested in entering the PI field
• Took on our first “flocking” case — involving Flock cameras and local government, that was initiated by a national media source.

We’re only three days into September, and we’re already wondering where the next case, call, or unexpected adventure will take us. And if you or someone you know ever needs answers or a little help sorting through the details, give us a shout — mystery-solving is kind of our thing, and thankfully it usually involves fewer magnifying glasses than TV promised!

Our team received this card and beautiful message today… about a week ago we received a phone call from someone working through some very trying times in their life and asking about our services.

Instead of rushing to action, we spent time in meaningful conversation where we ultimately agreed that the services of our team weren’t appropriate. Instead we spoke openly about an alternative plan with an option for continued support.

The easy answer was to take this person’s money and later provide an unprovable answer… We just don’t do business that way, never have and I hope never will. The services of a PI are expensive and should be worth something in the end.

To our friend who sent this card… if you see this post please know the card arrived and your beautiful message was so meaningfully received. We’re grateful for all your words and your own successes.

We’ve said from the beginning… it costs nothing for us to talk, but could cost you everything if we don’t.

What is your “go-to” when you’re out on the road working? Usually, and unfortunately for me it’s typically fast food as I’m always rushing to get to the next stop.

I’d love to stop at all of the local home cooking places but time (and big crowds) are always moving me to fast food.

Today it was Jimmy John's. They’re freaky fast, super tasty but still allowed me to sit inside and separate from work for a bit! (Bootlegger Club for the win!)

July proved to be another busy month for Team DPJC!

We traveled across the Bluegrass—from 📍Lexington to Fredonia, West Liberty, Paducah, Hazard, Viper, Eubank, Science Hill, Somerset, London, Williamsburg, and Horse Cave—working hard to support cases, families, and communities across Kentucky.

Along the way, we completed key interviews to support criminal defense cases, state contract cases, continued developing Situational Awareness training (then unfinished it to hopefully finish it again soon), got to go to prison twice and thankfully released twice!, and explored the launch of a Cold Case Collective — a panel dedicated to helping families search for answers when they need them most.

We’re also excited to be working with a new “innocence project” business launch – more info on this soon!

Our work doesn’t only reside in the Bluegrass. We assist clients across the nation. This month, we have interviewed for an expert/investigative case in Maine, and assisted families in Tennessee and here locally who are seeking a complete review of investigations after tragic losses.

This month also brought personal loss with the passing of a best friend and family member. 🐾

Through the busy days and difficult moments, we remain grateful for the opportunity to keep showing up, doing the work, and helping people find answers.

More updates coming soon. Thank you for following and supporting Team DPJC!

Wishing everyone a happy and safe 4th of July!🇺🇸

June kept us on the move — and what a month it was! From mountain roads to busy interviews & investigations, our team covered a lot of Kentucky and made some great memories along the way. We traveled to Viper, Flatwoods, Hazard, Wi******er, Ft. Mitchell, South Shore, Lexington, Richmond, Frankfort, Louisa, Belfry, Ashland, Paris, Radcliffe, and Elizabethtown.

Along the way, we enjoyed a little time at the Spirit in the Bluegrass Festival — including some peach cobbler moonshine from Kentucky Mountain Moonshine.🪕

We also developed a new leadership curriculum for an upcoming fall conference and spent meaningful time teaching Home Visitation Safety.

Of course, no busy travel month would be complete without a few unexpected adventures — including a flat tire after finding what felt like every pothole in eastern Kentucky. A big thank you to Perry County Tire for saving the drive home!🚗

We were reminded once again that public libraries are some of the best meeting spaces across the Commonwealth — Perry County Library was a great example.

And to top it all off, we picked out our new company vehicle fleet.

Busy? Absolutely.
Grateful? Even more so.
Here’s to the people, places, and potholes that made June one to remember!

Happy Birthday to our very own David P. Jude! Wishing you the best day, week, month & year! 🤘🎉🎈
