I joined a webinar promoting Mindvalley's Holobody program today and was blown away. They cited so many cool studies...
🤓For people on a weight loss journey, poor or limited sleep can significantly impact their results. Research shows that when sleep is short or low quality, up to 50% of the weight lost can come from muscle rather than fat. With good quality sleep, however, the weight loss is more likely to come from fat, preserving muscle mass.
🤓In a fascinating Harvard study, researchers invited people in their 70s and 80s to spend a week in a house meticulously recreated to look and feel like it was the 1940s, complete with period-specific decor, music, phones, and black-and-white TV. Immersed in this environment, participants’ biological ages actually showed signs of rejuvenation, rolling back by about seven years in just one week. However, after the study concluded, when participants returned to daily life, those around them began treating them as their original age, influencing their behavior accordingly. Fun fact: You can measure your biological age today with tools like GlycanAge!
🤓Another fun fact: The National Weight Control Registry found that people who successfully maintained a weight loss of 60+ pounds for five or more years often did so within a group setting.
