Some friendships are so strong, they'll carry you to the other side of the world. Literally. ❤️
Kevan Chandler was born with spinal muscular atrophy, a condition that affects his muscle movement and means he uses a wheelchair.
He had always dreamed of exploring Europe, but accessibility barriers made the idea feel out of reach.
Then his friends came up with an extraordinary plan.
If Kevan couldn't reach every destination in his wheelchair, they'd carry him.
In 2016, they adapted a child carrier into a specially designed backpack and took turns carrying Kevan through France, Ireland and the UK.
Together, they experienced places Kevan had once thought he might never see.
But the adventure didn't end there.
Inspired by that journey, the friends began planning another trip, this time across China, where they also hoped to volunteer with children with disabilities.
Kevan went on to establish We Carry Kevan, an organisation encouraging creative approaches to accessibility while recognising that everyone's needs are different.
Because this story isn't just about five friends carrying someone in a backpack.
It's about friendship, trust and refusing to let obstacles have the final word.
Kevan dreamed of seeing the world. His friends made sure he wouldn't have to face it alone. ❤️🌍
