4th of July 2026 Impacts:

As we start to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States on the 4th of July, a quick reminder we will run trash routes as scheduled on the 3rd. Our office will be opened on the 3rd from 8-4pm. Some landfills are closed but we will still deliver roll off dumpsters as needed. Routes on Monday the 6th will have a delayed start, so no worries if we reach you a little later than normal. We will start our Monday at the Landfill to give us a chance to empty trucks.

🗑🚮⬆️ Now serving western Black Hawk County - weekly trash service. 👋🤝😀

We are excited to announce service for the western portion of Black Hawk County.

We will start a new weekly trash pickup route this Friday March 13th.

We offer both 65 and 95 gallon totes.

Weekly pick up for a 65 gallon is $19.50 and a 96 gal is $23.50.

In order to establish a route we are offering the first 30 customers 20% off the first 3 months of service.

We also understand you might have extra trash right now, so when we deliver your free tote or during your first pickup day we will happy pick up 8 extra bags at no additional charge.

We are locally owned,established trash company since 1960, servicing Butler & Hardin county, we have serviced Blackhawk in the past and see the need now.

We don't do customer contracts. Your service is your choice.

Today, Friday February 20th, 2026, we will NOT be picking up trash to give plows there space!

Today's routes will be completed Monday.

Also, I think Pecip snow fall measurement is a little short.

As most, if not all, of you know, Wendell started CSS in 1960. He wasn’t afraid of hard work, taking risks, or getting out and talking to people to make the business a reality.

Wendell never met a stranger and reminded me very much of my grandpa Larry. He was sharp, a great storyteller- a real shake-your-hand and look-you-in-the-eye kind of man. He adored his family and his community, was very proud of both, and was always quick to tell me so.

Wendell, his family, his crew, his community, his customers- his people; have been my absolute favorite part of City Sanitary Service. We will continue to value people first and be proud of our people.

Our thoughts are with Wendell’s people today and through the waves ahead.

12/29/2025 Due to the winter weather we will not be picking up garbage today. We will get anyone missed tomorrow.

With the landfill closed we will not be picking up roll-off containers either. We can possibly do swaps or deliveries this afternoon.
