Recently, I listened to a podcast where a comedian talked about the fact that he knows he won't ever be the best in his field. But where does that leave him? As I listened, I also wondered, "What about the rest of us?" Do we give up because we won't necessarily be "the best"?

Please read my latest blog and join in on the conversation!

I was listening recently to my favorite podcast, WTF with Marc Maron , and his guest, a fellow comic, talked about finding his place in the comedy world. He shared about coming to terms with the fact...

I think of the Great Blue Heron as a beautiful, graceful animal. What did I learn from this creature when I saw it completely out of its element? Read to find out!

A couple years ago, I hopped in my car to go somewhere and when I reached the end of my street I had to stop the car and blink a few times to believe what I was seeing: A great blue heron was walking...

When I first joined an adult competitive swim team after a looonngg time out of the water, I was super intimidated by the other people. To me, they were athletes. I was just someone who went to practice and swam laps.

As I kept up the practice of competitive swimming, I came to a realization about my own mindset. Please check out my latest blog about the ways we view ourselves and why it may be helpful to change those views.

Have you ever had an epiphany that transformed your belief about something important? That very thing happened to me a while back, and I think you’ll find it interesting. When I first joined an...

Sometimes, it feels like all we do is try! I'm constantly trying, trying, trying. Trying to plan one thing or another in life or at work and it can get tiring. I've thought about this a lot and decided I'd like to take a different approach.

Please check out my latest blog post about why you should stop trying!

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the word “trying.” I’ve decided I say that word too often. Maybe you do, too? Do you say any of these kinds of sentences? “I’m trying to get this...

We all sometimes make decisions using information that's not quite right. Here's an interesting story to illustrate this situation. Take a read!

I'd like to tell you a story that a friend on my swim team shared with me. What he learned is relevant to those of us traveling on the path of leadership excellence. It was the last meet of...

It was a joy to work with my friend and collaborator, Annie Bradberry, to deliver this workshop in Parsippany, New Jersey in 2008. We helped people find ways to stretch out of their comfort zones and step into their vibrant, meaningful futures. Note: The huge lump in the middle of the room was a paper shredder, which we unveiled and then invited participants to use to shred their limiting beliefs. Powerful stuff!
