Ultrawisp UltraWISP is a locally owned and operated fixed wireless internet service providing high speed internet and IT services (repair, networks, servers, etc).

Please do not post technical support issues, complaints, profanities, etc on this page. Please be patient and pleasant to UltraWISP, admins, and each other on this page. We reserve the right to remove any posts we deem inappropriate and/or to ban users from our page. Technical support tickets should be submitted through our website via your customer portal (once the site is up and you have signed up for service). If that is not possible for some reason, then via Messenger, email, and phone - in that order. General questions, comments, discussions, etc... can be posted here, via Messenger, email, or phone in that order - but please do not submit support tickets through the website customer portal for these types of communications. We are local. Many of you know us and where we live. We enjoy our privacy and request that you please respect the communications methods provided here: via comments/questions on this page, the website customer portal, Messenger, email, and phone (as last resort). We also ask that you respect the posted hours of operation for phone calls. If it's a serious, pressing, issue after hours - we understand and want to help - so please call if the other methods are unsuccessful within an acceptable time frame, otherwise we'll respond ASAP - even after business hours. Using electronic methods of communication are preferred and phone calls should be of last resort - especially during the business hours of M-F - 8am to 4pm as I do work a regular job and may not be able to respond during those times.

*** System Wide Outage ***

- - - Updates: 8:48pm - the building that runs the service lost power this morning while I was out of the area. Once I got back and figured out what was going on and getting a resolution in the works for mains power - I also got a generator on the systems to get service back up. That happened at a little after 4pm. Then, for some reason the generator stalled at 6:37pm. I was back out of the area by that time and one of our customers was asked to get the generator back up once we realized the outage was happening again. But, the generator keeps stalling. We are getting the generator switched out with another one now 8:45pm, so hopefully everything will be back up in a few minutes and stay that way. We are on it - but apologize for the problems today. Hopefully it will be resolved very soon. Mains power should be reestablished tomorrow as well. - - -

The network went down at appropriately 10:20am this morning. I am aware of it and have been to determine the issue and no solutions yet. It will be at least another hour or 2 before it's resolved. I'll update more as I know more.

Thank you for your patience.

Notice: Network Degraded Status

When we had the 24 hour power outage a couple/few weeks ago, a battery in the string of batteries for the battery backup system at the main network center had an internal short. This has caused the battery backup system to be taken offline as a single battery cannot be replaced - the whole string has to be replaced.

I've been working on getting new batteries in place - but it's complicated and very expensive. I just picked up a load of batteries today for this, and other projects for the network, in North Carolina and will be working on getting these batteries in place soon.

These new batteries are significantly larger than the previous ones and will work better and longer than the previous ones. But, they are also requiring changes to the charging system, wiring, location, etc.

As a result, any power outages will drop power to the main system that everything goes in and out of. When power comes back on, it can take 4 to 5 minutes for everything to come back up. If longer outages (hopefully none) happen before I get these new batteries tied into the system, I'll get a generator on the main system there - but the system will be out until I get there and get it up and running.

Everything is working normally otherwise. It's just causing the network to drop during ANY power outages while the batteries are offline. For those of you without generators and/or battery backups on you router and outside radio - you will essentially see no difference. But, for those with those - the internet network will be down until I get the generator setup - until I get these new batteries in play.

I appreciate your understanding while I get this resolved.

Service is back up! Apologies for the downtime. A regional fiber line was cut and is still down. The UltraWISP backup systems, however, are now back online with the upstream services required to get the connection reestablished. Our services came back online at about 10:50pm.

Thank you all for your patience!

[Repaired - however - the fiber line(s) upstream for many are still down] We are having a service outage. Primary fiber is down due to a regional fiber line cut upstream effecting Davis, NE WV, and into Uniontown PA. The secondary link is also temporarily down for an unknown reason at this point. Working on it now with the secondary providers. Thank you everyone!

Wow! Time has flown since that last post! It seems like only a month or 2 ago! Well, the new rates, plans, and changes are applied as those of you who are my customers will see this on your bill that went out early this morning. Not only are the rates lowered substantially, but those on the lower-tier residential plan have been upgraded to the Max plan for faster speeds - going from 75Mbps down to Maximum speeds - which is generally around 200Mbps down. Upload rates are also increased across the board.

Please make sure email accounts have my domain (UltraWISP.com) added as a safe sender so they don't end up in junk mail and you get our emails.

Thank you all and hopefully this is a welcomed surprise!

Multiple plans to fit your needs and budget. Fast, reliable, and no set data caps or bandwidth throttling*! For many in our mountainous and hilly terrain, this can also improve your cell phone use and extend your battery charge and life!

New Things Happening

I am working on rate plan changes to lower prices and maybe offer different speed plans. I plan to have the new rates and plans worked out soon. I will send letters and am planning on creating some related YouTube video content that I will post here when ready. To minimize losses, these rates will be implemented when Prodigi and/or Frontier are close to turning up their services.

Plans are in the works for some YouTube videos covering some important details, explanations of services and technologies, etc relating to internet service, speeds, latencies, etc to help inform you all about internet speeds to give better understandings before new services coming to the area go live and have sales people from those services (Prodigi and Frontier) trying to sale you on their services. Marketing details can be misleading and I want to you understand the tactics at hand.

We value you as customers and want to keep you on board. We have suffered greatly at the hands of the government. Lowering rates and changing up service plans will further cause us financial harm - but - it's a simple reality that has to be dealt with and losing our customers outright will hurt more. So, please hold out for our new rates, content, and so on to have a better understanding of the situation at hand and so we can continue to provide you services that you want and need while helping keep us in business. We appreciate you loyalty and want to make sure we earn it.

Thank you,
Andrew Meador

If service is out or you are having service issues, please remember to check the status page of our website. I know when service is down or having issues - it may be difficult to get internet service to check the website, but keep it in mind.

The website is THE central location where you can see the status of different network segments as well as messages about any known statuses. I have been putting outage and issue notices here, but I do not plan to do that in the future. The website status page will be the place to check - as during outages - it is time consuming and distracting to update both locations with the same information. A single, central source is easier and faster.

Also, please us the Client Portal on the website - the same page you use to pay bills and such - to submit support tickets if you are having an issue - especially if you are having an issue and the status page network segments don't show any issues.

If any network segments on the status page are showing issues - I am already aware or it - as any network segment that is having an issue generates immediate notifications to me that this is the case.

FB Messages, texts, emails, etc - asking about the status slows down resolution of the problem. So please check the status page first. If network segment errors - keep watching the messages below the network segment statuses for updates. Sometimes is does take a little bit for me to get a notice up, as my priority is to see what is going on so I can put a notice up with some context.

If you can't get an internet connection to check the status page or submit a support ticket, but you can manage a text, then by all means let me know that way.

I do not want anyone being/remaining out of service because you are worried about how to contact me. But, using the methods above will help me be more efficient at resolving the issue - especially if it is a wider outage.

Plans are in the works to update the website - including making the systems status page work locally within the UltraWISP network - so that even if the internet is out, if you are still linked to the main systems - you'll still be able to open a web page to see status details. I will post more about that when it is setup.

RESOLVED – System Wide Outage 2025-06-14 10:21 PM There is a known system wide service issue. It is intermittent and mostly down – to partially down with various symptoms: slow, some sites/activities may not work at all, especially while we are troubleshooting this issue. I wanted to give a quick notice to let everyone know that between the hours of 3am to 5am daily, that this time slot is used for systems updates, configuration changes, etc that can cause short outages while systems restart, changes are applied within the network. etc. This is relatively infrequent, but sometimes these changes need done where prior notice isn't practical - this is to serve that purpose.
