The future of biosafety is being shaped by the conversations happening now.

On June 10, we’re joining the Chesapeake Area Biological Safety Association for its Annual Scientific Symposium, a full day of insight, innovation, and connection with leaders across biosafety, research, and emerging technology.

Tracey Ann Brown, WBHT Training Program Manager, represented the Chesapeake Area Biological Safety Association Scholarship Program at The Universities at Shady Grove (USG) Celebration of Scholarships.

ChABSA’s mission, in partnership with USG, is to foster and advance biological safety as a scientific discipline through education, research, and professional development. This collaboration supports students pursuing careers in biosafety and strengthens the future workforce in the life sciences.

During the event, Dr. Anne Khademian, Executive Director of USG, emphasized the essential role that scholarships and mentorship play in preparing career-ready graduates who will meet the scientific and workforce needs of tomorrow.

Grateful for Tom Clifford, Dave Buonora, and Kate Dawson from USG’s Office of Strategic Partnerships. Their collaboration continues to strengthen ChABSA’s scholarships and WBHT’s training pipeline for tomorrow’s biosafety and high-containment professionals.

From sunrise to sunset, the World BioHazTec Asia, Middle East & Africa Office soaked up the perfect blend of wellness, teamwork, and fun during an extended getaway at Club Med Bali!🌴

Joined by our friends at Yizeta, we powered through engaging walks, indulged in massages, explored the water while snorkeling, lounged by the pool, and—of course—enjoyed a lot of amazing food. Most importantly, we shared laughter, fellowship, and quality time together that strengthened both friendships and partnerships.

We were also thrilled to have Kerstin Haskell, President, come hang with the crew and be part of the experience. A truly memorable retreat filled with connection, restoration, and community.

Juan Osorio, COO and Kerstin Haskell, President had a wonderful evening attending the Maryland Tech Council ICON Awards Finalist Reception, celebrating our nomination for Life Sciences Innovation (Under $25 Million).

We are grateful to the generous sponsors, BDO and Advantage Technology, for hosting a beautiful reception at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in Gaithersburg. It was great to meet our interviewer, Jackie Murray in person and to see Maryland Tech Council CEO Kelly Schulz, along with many fellow innovators shaping Maryland’s tech and life sciences ecosystem.
