The Gearbox by Mobility Outfitters/Stewart Reed Design is currently exhibited at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Beverly Hills, check it out in the Concept Vehicle gallery! It was a trendsetter in 1997, foreshadowing not only today's Overlanding but even the SUV craze itself. The was highly reconfigurable and modular, with solar panels that could remain at at a site, open pickup or van configuration and so many other prescient, clever features. https://www.petersen.org/vehicle-spotlights/1998-mobility-outfitters-gear-box

A visionary designer, who's led the Transportation Design Department for a couple decades at world renowned ArtCenter, Stewart Reed is full of ideas and extremely diverse automotive experience. From low volume, custom/concepts for OEs and Defense 'Primes' to museums and coachbuilding, creative direction for 3-dimensional wisdom.

What a wonderful EyesOnDesign this year!!! As theme for the show’s cars, we’re SUPER excited that many of Dad's own designs will be assembled at the show, together at the this weekend. The all the way from LA to Detroit, and his own example of a Meyers Manx are coming - all the way across the country, from CA to MI! Perhaps his favorite done for Bob Lutz & Cunningham Motors, is with Jack Roush's Collection in Detroit - so it’s probably the closest to the show!

has contributed greatly to the C7 Dad designed for Cunningham Motors shown at the 2001 or the full scale model is in the near the Ford Estate. Looking forward to Dr. Phillip Hessburg's wonderful EyesOnDesign for DIO!

Wish the Mullin Automotive Museum were timeless, but its time here has closed. Here's a wonderful review of a high point there, the Art of the Bugatti exhibit included a wonderful work commissioned by Peter Mullin with Stewart Reed Design. SRD designed and fabricated vehicles for an extremely unique automotive cross section; from Lockheed Martin's JLTV proposal at AUSA 2007, to highly advanced concepts for Ford, Cunningham Motors/BobLutz, Mobility Outfitters "Gearbox" and design activities for Michelin and Louis Vuitton, after decades with Art Center, Prince/JCI, Toyota and Chrysler...

This is terrific review of the Mullin Automotive Museum's exhibit which featured the Type 64 and its mahogany body buck, as would've been done in period, circa 1939, yet informed by today's perspective. A wonderfully inspiring exhibit for the restoration expertise!

Jim Palam brings us highlights of the Mullin Museum’s incredible Bugatti show in Oxnard, CA, open until March 31, 2015 and not to be missed. According to many in the automotive world the ‘37 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic  is one of the greatest cars of all time. The magnificent ‘39 Bugatti Type ...
