As you drive Highway 101 South into Paso Robles, Santellan Vineyards and Inn is one of the first wineries you’ll spot. A beautifully updated tasting room and their main vacation rental are perfectly located right off the 101 so you can stop for a wine tasting and snack before continuing into town. The laid-back, park-like setting allows for family-friendly tasting with a beautiful fish pond filled with reeds on your way to the tasting room. Reds, whites, sparkling, and fruit wines grace the menu and they plan to soon offer a tasting flight of each. We were surprised to see 13% pomegranate and raspberry wine available that were incredible! We also tried Symphony, a lime-infused, summer-perfect wine that is deliciously reminiscent of a margarita. Owner Scott Santellan said his red fruit wines have a zin base, so sugar-driven headaches are a thing of the past! He discussed his plans for his future fruit wine line up to include peach, mango, and cherry wines. Scott also has great interest in producing low-sulfate wines through a natural gravity filtration process perfected from a mentor of his in Mexico, meaning he plans on creating wines that reduce the hangover effect as much as possible. Both the Vineyard Estate and Santellan Cottage are on AirBnB/VRBO and their beautiful backdrops make them an easy venue choice for weddings and other events. Scott has great plans for his vineyard and we’re excited to witness its growth! Look out Paso, here comes Santellan!
