🥂🍾May 30th - Bryan is excited to once again head to Orange County as a judge for the OC Commercial Wine Competition. Steinbeck’s Blanc de Blanc took best in class for Premium Sparkling in 2024, and that wine was chosen to be poured at the Judge’s Dinner on the Saturday night of the competition. Bryan will present on that wine for the nearly 100 other California winemakers, where he will focus on learning Sparkling winemaking from his time in Tasmania, Australia.

Available for purchase by the bottle at the tasting room. These bubbles are very exclusive ✨

🌱The close up photo of the blooming grape vine is of Eberle’s Syrah vines in our vineyard. These are some of the oldest Syrah vines in California, and maybe the whole country. This is the Estrella Clone. These vines descended from the Chapoutier family in the Rhône Valley, France. Gary planted them here in 1986 from UC Davis.

The photo of the extended rows of grape vines in the distance is of our oldest Cabernet Sauvignon vines we planted here in 1982.

They’re all enjoying this Springtime weather and developing beautifully. Come visit us! Now is the perfect time to visit the winery and vineyards before the summer heat creeps in.

🍷 Winemaker Bryan Widstrand is honored to travel to his stomping grounds back East, and present at his Alma Mater Concordia University Chicago on Steinbeck Wines and the family’s Lutheran heritage for a private event on May 1st. The family originally moved from Geneseo, Illinois to Paso Robles, and with His own Chicago connections, the event promises to build even more meaningful relationships.
Bryan also gave a commencement speech for the 2023 Graduation 🎓
Chicago here we come! Cheers!
