☀️ Good Morning from Shell’s Sweets LLC! 🍬💕
This morning, I’m just feeling blessed and grateful as I think about how far Shell’s Sweets has come.
Back in 2016, I was literally just making candy because I enjoyed doing it. I would give it away or even exchange my candy for products that other people were making. 😂 I wasn’t thinking about starting a business or making money from it. I was simply doing something I enjoyed.
Then someone made me realize, “You know you have something good here.” ❤️
And here we are, 10 years later! 🙌🏾
For the past 10 years, I have been blessed to prepare homemade candy and sweet treats for my community, and I will never take that support for granted. What started with me simply making candy and sharing it with others grew into Shell’s Sweets LLC, and I thank God for the journey.
Over the years, my prices may have increased a tad bit or even decreased a tad bit depending on the cost of ingredients and supplies. But I also want people to understand something about supporting a small business:
The price you pay is not the amount the business owner makes.
If you purchase a $60 combo platter, I’m not putting $60 in my pocket. I still have to purchase the ingredients, platter, packaging, and supplies needed to prepare your order.
If you purchase a $150 or $160 platter, I’m not making $150 or $160 in profit either. Before that platter reaches you, I have purchased everything needed to make it, and then there is the time and work that goes into preparing it.
That is the reality for so many small businesses. We are not getting rich off of our customers. 😂 We are trying to cover our expenses, make a reasonable profit, and continue providing a product that we are proud to put our name on.
But please know this: when you patronize a small business, you ARE doing something meaningful for that business owner. You could spend your money anywhere, so when you choose Shell’s Sweets, I truly appreciate it. ❤️
To everyone who has purchased from me, placed repeat orders, shared my posts, recommended me to someone else, exchanged products with me way back when 😂, or simply encouraged me along the way—THANK YOU!
From giving candy away in 2016 to celebrating 10 years of Shell’s Sweets in 2026, all I can say is LOOK AT GOD! 🙌🏾🙏🏾
