WEFD was happy to fire up the grill for the 8th Grade East vs. West Minico Football Game!

We had a great time cooking hamburgers and feeding the 8th graders after the game. It’s always a great opportunity for us to get out in the community, support our local kids, and enjoy a little football!

Safety Training with United Electric! ⚡️

Last night, we had the opportunity to have United Electric come out and give our firemen a great safety demonstration and training on electrical hazards.

These types of trainings are extremely valuable for our firefighters, especially when responding to vehicle accidents, structure fires, downed power lines, and other situations involving electricity.

A huge THANK YOU to United Electric for taking the time to come out, share your knowledge, and help keep our firefighters and community safe!

We appreciate you!

NEVER FORGET — SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 🇺🇸

25 years later, we continue to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We especially honor the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice while running toward danger to save others. We also remember the police officers, EMTs, military members, and countless civilians who lost their lives that day.

Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication will never be forgotten.

Today, we remember those we lost, honor those who served, and keep their families in our thoughts.

We will never forget.

West End has been on the move!

We were able to send a tanker up to the Heglar Fire last night to help assist with firefighting efforts. Our Tanker 560 has been refilling the ponds, allowing the helicopters to quickly refill and head back to the fire.

Back to school!

WEFD was also able to cook for Paul Elementary’s Back to School Night! We hope everyone has a safe and successful school year!

West End Fire & Rescue is proud to be there for our community and to help our neighbors when they need us!

Today at 11:08 WEFD was dispatched to a 15 year old male that was crushed by a skid steer. Air saint Luke’s was automatically dispatched. Upon arrival, the workers at the scene had the skid steer off of him, and we were able to start a trama assessment. We would like to thank Air saint Luke’s, Magic Valley paramedics, and Jerome County sheriffs office, for their fast response and help.

We are sending prayers to our patient and his family.

West End Fire would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the local businesses that support our volunteer firefighters.

As we are fully staffed by all volunteers, our firefighters often leave work at a moment’s notice to respond to emergencies and serve our community. Without the understanding and support of their employers, providing the level of service our community depends on would not be possible.

We want to recognize and thank the following businesses for allowing our volunteers to answer the call when it matters most:

• Beaver Machine
• KAH Farms
• Meservy Customs
• Riverton Seed
• AG Electric
• Amalgamated Sugar
• Novus Glass
• PMT
• Ridley’s Pharmacy
• Marta’s
• C&J Contracting
• Schaeffer Farms
• UPS
• Extreme Excavation
• Vertex Pest Control

Thank you for your flexibility, your partnership, and your commitment to the safety of our community. Your support allows our firefighters to protect lives and property when every second counts.

Please join us in thanking these businesses for standing behind our volunteers. We couldn’t do it without them!
