Clearfield’s Tribal Broadband Training Initiative is bringing Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT®) training to Bartlesville, Oklahoma, July 21–23, 2026, hosted at Tri County Tech. This is no-cost, industry-standard training designed to help certify local Tribal residents, open access to living-wage careers in fiber optics, and support efforts to connect Tribal lands to high-speed broadband infrastructure.
Who can attend: Enrolled members of federally recognized Tribes, 18+. The initiative was inspired by community needs and led by Native leaders, including Clearfield COO Johnny Hill and Lumen Technologies’ Tzeitel Buchanan. The goal is to empower Tribes to build and maintain their own networks while addressing workforce shortages and the broadband access gap on Tribal lands.
Spots are limited: There are 18 seats available for our Tribal communities. Clearfield is offering the training at no cost. They are also checking on the possibility of a reduced-rate hotel block for those who need to travel.
