Senior Project Engineer - Custom Capital Equipment Los Angeles, California
This is one of the most unique companies I have worked with in 30 years as an Executive Recruiter. They have the capabilities to make any kind of automated equipment there is. The applications range from production lines, inspection systems, off planet telescopes, high end recreation to Hollywood movies. The President is a great businessman who is fascinated with technology. He loves assisting his engineers on projects and is more likely to be on the floor with a wrench than at his desk.
Due to explosive growth, he has retained me to find two unique engineers who loves to take a concept and turn it into reality.
E/M Engineering Guru/Project Engineer. Ideally will have at least a BSME, though a PhD would not be overkill for this job. Must have experience in taking an equipment concept through design, component, systems, and vendor selection and helping build the machine. Must know electrical component applications to equipment (motors, drives, sensors, controls), Soup to nuts in designing and building custom equipment – machines, including sheet metal fab, machining, molding, 3D Printing. Must have Solid 3D CAD experience. Will be a hands-on leader for each project, starting with the customer and ending with installation.
Electrical and Controls Guru/Project Engineer. Ideally will have at least a BSEE, though a PhD would not be overkill for this job. Must have experience in taking an equipment concept through design, component, systems, and vendor selection and helping build the machine. Must know Machine (PLC) Controls design, applications, and programming. Must have a solid knowledge of actuators, sensors, wireless technologies, and board level design. Will be a hands-on leader for each project, starting with the customer and ending with installation.

The position will be based East of LA, relocation assistance is available. Great benefits. Salary is open, but targeting $100,000- $140,000 plus bonus and a stock incentive package. One of the most advanced automated production lines is being assembled and installed in New Jersey. The line includes several dozen robots, fully integrated controls systems thousands of integrated sensors and real time digital video systems and is one of the fastest and reliable in any industry. We are currently looking to train an engineer or tech to maintain, repair and upgrade this system on a full-time basis and need to hire one special person for each shift, Monday through Friday. We require someone with experience in diagnosing mechanical and electrical/electronic problems, repair and upgrades on automated equipment, automated machinery or robotics. Should be able to read blueprints and schematics.

Power Supplies Guru Boston, MA

Our client is a designer and manufacturer of advanced capital equipment used in a variety of manufacturing processes. Each machine is custom made to fit our client’s unique needs.

Each machine has several automated systems driven by a variety of power supplies. This newly crated position will become the in-house expert in defining power requirements and exploring solutions from PS vendors, making selections and overseeing installation and test of all power supplies used in each project. This is a key position and reports directly to the VP of Engineering. Excellent salary, bonus, benefits and a pre-IPO equity package. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will have a BSEE or similar, strong power supplies applications and or design experience as applied to complex automated systems, exposure to simulation, modeling and quality/reliability for these systems. Should also have experience in project planning, project management and related budgeting, have worked directly with vendors on power supply issues, and a strong knowledge of EMI - EMC regulations. Though strategic in many ways, this is a hands-on, working with EE tools, electrical motors and controls, schematics, cabling and typical E test and analysis tools. Very collaborative, driven and entrepreneurial company. If you don’t play well with others, this is not for you. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills required.
