As temperatures drop, pests start looking for sheltered places to spend the winter.

Window AC units can leave gaps where insects like lady beetles, seed bugs, and flies can get inside. Mice can also take advantage of gaps around doors, damaged weatherstripping, and other small exterior openings.

Before it gets cold, remove window units and check your screens, door seals, and other entry points to help keep pests outside.

Seeing ants keep popping up after treatment? Ant budding could be why.

When a colony splits, part of it can move to a new location and establish a satellite nest. That’s why treating the ants you see doesn’t always solve the problem.

Finding the source is key to controlling the infestation.

Not every web you spot in a tree means you have a pest problem.

These are likely fall webworms, a common sight in New England in late summer and early fall. The caterpillars build their webs around branch tips and feed on the leaves inside.

The good news? They typically don’t cause serious damage to healthy trees and will eventually move on. So if you spot one, there’s usually no need to panic; just know what you’re looking at.

Cooler weather means pests are looking for somewhere warm to spend the winter, and your home could be their next stop.

Overwintering pests like stink bugs, lady beetles, and cluster flies can sneak in through screens, windows, doors, and exterior cracks. Check for gaps now before they find their way inside.

Mice don’t always wander randomly. They often follow the same routes again and again, and some of those routes can lead straight to your home.

Walls, foundation edges, pipes, utility lines, and other protected pathways can act like “highways” that help mice reach potential entry points.

Seeing activity in the same area repeatedly? Trace the path. There may be a clear route leading right to where they’re getting inside.

DIY pest control can work for some problems, but make sure you know exactly what you’re using before you get started. Always read and follow the product label, use the recommended protective equipment, and keep treatments away from children, pets, food, and surfaces where they could come into contact with them.

If you’re not sure what pest you’re dealing with, where it’s coming from, or whether a product is appropriate for the situation, it may be time to call a professional.

These bugs don't bite, sting, or cause any damage. But if you're seeing them on your windows or siding, they may have already found a way in, or they're about to.

They are what we call seasonal invaders, often looking for the perfect place to overwinter. It's worth paying attention to their activity before winter hits.

The inspection continues around the outside of the home, where pest activity and potential entry points can easily go unnoticed.

Our technicians check areas you may not think twice about, from underneath decks and around equipment to places where pests can build nests, find shelter, or gain access to the home.

A thorough exterior inspection can help identify these conditions early, before they lead to activity indoors.

Ever wonder what a pest inspection actually looks like? We start outside.

Our technicians walk around the entire property looking for the places pests are most likely to get in, including gaps around the foundation, openings around pipes and utilities, vents, and areas where moisture tends to collect.

A lot of the time, the signs aren't obvious. That's why looking at the whole property matters, not just the spots where you've already noticed a problem. This first look helps us get a better idea of what's happening around the property before we head inside. And sometimes, the smallest details can tell us a lot.
