10 Years After…………we ground out this field on the left side of the asphalt and just recently we returned to grind a few more stumps in a different section of this farm. Customer was very happy w/the results as my son Derrick is a consummate professional w/his work ethic. He does not like to return to “touch up” stumps but it does happen from time to time “. We always return if touch up is required as it comes w/the territory.

Brotherly Love………..Occasionally during any typical grinding season we’ll experience a lull in stump grinding. This lull allows us to get caught up on long overdue maintenance & repairs. Here, Derrick is replacing a leaking exhaust pipe on his brother Jakes auto. Just in the nick of time as his the current inspection sticker expired @ month end.

Brotherly Love…..we had a 1/2 day of grinding as it’s summer and sometimes we’ll have a lull regarding stump grinding. This is a perfect time for some R & R or catch up on much needed maintenance. Here, Derrick is going ham to replace an leaking exhaust pipe for his older brother Jake. Once completed, this vehicle will be ok to pass state inspection as his current stickers up @ months end.

Executive Decision Making………Today is July 9, 2021 and hurricane Elsa has made its way to our area. Weather forecast was 3-5” of tropical downpours all day so the decision was made to take a day off from grinding stumps. Video explains it all

Behind the scenes means you’ll need to have some mechanical ability for this type of business. We had “warranty work” done and it still ran over $900.00 to have it running again. Go figure, and we had to figure a way to remove an over torqued oil drain plug. That’ll be the last dealer visit for this grinder.

The old saying “ hate to see it go”. Rental grinder has been returned and not sorry to see it go. We did what was needed to get through a tough stretch and glad it’s behind us.

Here is a short video of my oldest son, Jake Turner grinding a stump in Boxford on Saturday. This is a typical stump grind, it requires a very smooth rhythm and an experienced operator.

BOUT TIME.....finally we picked this beast up yesterday after waiting all summer for it. We drove an 1 1/2 one way to pick it up in No.Oxford, Ma. but was worth the trip. Salesman mentioned he had other dealers calling looking for this model stump grinder as far away as Georgia. Once salesman said it was ready I dropped what I was doing and picked it up ASAP. Wasn’t gonna miss out on this one. Best part is the plow blade, no more raking for this old timer

You just can’t make this stuff up. After a long wait, we finally received a replacement engine for one of my grinders which had the expired original one that died in the early spring. You guessed it, bad luck as it was delivered damaged w/the air intake off the motor and the top of the dipstick broken off. Remainder of the dipstick is lodged in its tube and there’s really no easy way of removing it. Sending it back, not worth dealing w/this headache.
