Members of the Pearland Fire Department are in Appleton, Wisconsin this week conducting final inspection of our new Ladder Truck. Truck Co. 1. Upon completion of the inspections and a few tweaks, this state of the art yet simple and functional apparatus will be transported to Texas for final upfitting before being assigned to Firehouse 1 and placed into service.

This Ladder Truck represents a continued investment in the safety of our firefighters and our ability to provide elite emergency services to the citizens of Pearland. We are grateful to our City leadership, elected officials, and citizens whose support makes purchases like these possible. Your investment helps ensure the Pearland Fire Department remains equipped to deliver the highest level of service our community deserves.

We look forward to placing these beautiful new apparatus into service and continuing our commitment to protecting and serving Pearland with pride.

This past Tuesday, we held a wash down ceremony for our new Engine 3 at Firehouse 3 on Yost Blvd where crews symbolically welcome a new apparatus into service by giving it its first wash together. This engine will serve the citizens of Pearland well, and we are grateful for everyone involved in bringing it to life.

Did you know a person can bleed to death from a severe injury in as little as five minutes? This is why Robert Turner College And Career High School hosted a class last week and the Pearland Fire Department helped to certify and train 357 of their students.

🚨 BLOCKER 88 GOES IN SERVICE! 🚨

The Pearland Fire Department is proud to place Blocker 88 into service as part of our Blocker Program. Another investment in protecting our firefighters, paramedics, police officers, patients, and citizens while operating on our roadways.

When our crews are working a crash or emergency on a busy roadway, the danger doesn’t stop when we arrive. Blocker 88 is strategically positioned to help create a protected work area between our personnel and moving traffic. Simply put, this truck is there to take the hit so our people don’t have to.

We need YOUR help.

Texas law requires motorists approaching emergency vehicles stopped with their lights activated to MOVE OVER one lane when it is safe to do so, or SLOW DOWN to 20 MPH below the posted speed limit.

See the lights. Slow down. Move over. Give us room to work.

Blocker 88 adds another layer of protection, but the most important safety device on the roadway is still an attentive driver.

Firefighter Recruits Roth & Blumenthal can be seen advancing & flowing water in the water mapping prop. The recruits used 1.75” hose and demonstrated understanding and ability to apply water effectively and advance the hose to the simulated fire room.
