In the last couple of posts, we showed the newly completed Memorial Hermann – Greater Heights project. This week we get to show some of the progress on another Memorial Hermann project in The Woodlands. This one also presented some unique challenges, including designing and developing a plan that allowed the Morrison team the ability to service patients, staff, and guests throughout the construction process. As part of the design team with PhiloWilke Partnership, we were able to reallocate space to use temporarily while the permanent area was under construction. Here are just a few pictures of the completed Doctors Dining and Inpatient Kitchen. We’re excited to see this one continue to progress and will be sure to show the end result.

Last week we showed you how great the servery renovation turned out at Memorial Hermann Greater Heights. This week we focus on the heart of the project, the back of house. This project presented some exciting challenges, with the greatest being how to design for a large-scale renovation while preventing disruptions to the Morrison’s ability to provide service to patients, staff, and visitors during the construction process. Working with the rest of the design team, we were able to create and execute multiple phases of the overall project allowing for equipment and spaces to be reallocated or relocated temporarily during construction progress. Throughout the design we were able to create more useable area utilizing the existing space for cooking, tray make-up, and storage. We are extremely happy with the result, but more importantly so is the Morrison team.

We recently completed the Memorial Hermann Greater Heights kitchen renovation project as part of the design team alongside BSA Architects and Garner Fritsche Engineering. Kitchell Contractors served as the General Contractor and we are thrilled with the way our vision and concept came to fruition. We were able to improve the flow and efficiency in the servery by utilizing a modular serving system which gives the kitchen team flexibility in menu options. Each unit has the same dimension which allows them to be interchangeable meaning there are no limitations to their culinary creativity.

Here's an article in the Houston Chronicle featuring the BP Westlake Campus project we finished late last year. Great pictures of the kitchen and serving area, too. Gensler did a fantastic job on the entire project and we were happy to have worked with them.

Company leaders decided not only to repair the building but to remake the entire first floor, including its corporate cafeteria, fitness facility and conference center.
