At Pindar Vineyards, our award-winning wines are quite literally dreams come true. It was the dream of our founder Dr. Herodotus “Dan” Damianos that helped create the winemaking industry on Long Island in the early 1980’s. And that dream has, over 41 years, turned Pindar Vineyards into Long Island’s best-known wine producer. Dr. Herodotus “Dan” Damianos was a visionary. He saw what could be on Long Island when he planted the first vines and decided to make wine. Dr. Dan was also a compassionate doctor. He truly cared about each person he cared for in his practice. Last but certainly not least, he was a beloved family man. His family was his world. His traditions are carried on daily at the winery, in the tasting room and within our family. Pindar Vineyards encompasses more than 500 scenic acres. We grow 17 varieties of grapes, crafting them into some 23 varietals and proprietary blends. We produce 70,000 cases of wine a year, making us the largest vineyard on Long Island. But at heart we are still a family with a personal touch in every aspect of our business. The winery continues to be owned and operated by the Damianos family. It is run by Pindar Damianos the general manager, Alethea Damianos-Conroy the operations manager and Alexander Damianos the facility manager. You can find our flagship winery on the North Fork of Long Island, in Peconic. Also, please join us at our Port Jefferson location, where we have a full tasting bar and wine shop.

We’re so proud to have Pindar Vineyards featured on News 12’s Long Island East for Harvest 2026!

For generations, our family has poured its heart into every harvest, every bottle, and every experience here on the beautiful North Fork. Our story is one of hard work, passion, and a community that has supported us every step of the way.

Last night, Long Island W**e Country’s Tuesday Tastes made its way to Pindar, and we had the pleasure of opening our doors to some of our wonderful vineyard neighbors. 🍷🤍

One of the most special things about this industry is that so many of us are working the same long hours, putting the same love, heart, and care into our vineyards, our w**es, and the experiences we create. Nights like this give us the chance to step away from our own tasting rooms for a moment, learn from one another, share our stories, and celebrate what makes each of us unique.

We loved getting to share a little more of the Pindar journey with our fellow w**e community — and yes, you may spot a few familiar faces in these photos. 😉 We’re neighbors, colleagues, and most importantly, friends, all connected by the same goal: bringing you great Long Island w**e and even better memories.

Due to the incoming storm, we’re moving the grape-stomping fun to a new date! 🍇⛈️🍷

Our 2nd Annual Squish & Sip has been rescheduled to Sunday, October 4th from 11AM–3PM at Pindar Vineyards!

Same fun, same w**e, same chance to kick off your shoes and stomp some grapes — just on a sunnier day. 👣🍇 Plus, enjoy delicious food catered by CJ’s American Grill while you sip, stomp, tour the vineyard and celebrate harvest season with us!
