Throughout my career, I've known that I've missed out on business conversations that take place on the golf course. I played golf with friends a long time ago and enjoyed it. But it never was something I saw myself doing seriously - horses were my thing and that took up most of my disposable income and time. LOL

As I am rebuilding my business here in Colorado, I know I need to be in as many conversations with business leaders as I can. When Woodworth of Alpine Bank Colorado Springs invited me to be on her team for a golf scramble with the Southern Colorado Women's Chamber of Commerce golf outing today, I initially hesitated. I didn't want to embarrass myself or have the team feel like I wasn't contributing. But Melissa said "Ginny, I've NEVER golfed and they tell me it's going to be a beginner friendly environment to encourage women to golf." So I stepped out of my uncomfortableness with embarrassment and onto the course. We had a blast! I actually had some really good hits on the ball that contributed to the team's success and loved getting to build community with other female leaders in the Colorado Springs region.

Sometimes you just have to look where you want to go and swing. ⛳

TCP has picked up a lot of new followers over the past month and that is very exciting! Thank you!

With new followers and open enrollment equine assisted learning programs happening, I thought it was a good time to re-introduce myself to the TCP community.

I'm Ginny Telego. I help leaders and teams see the gap between what they intend and how it actually lands, and I partner with horses to do it. I also am a certified NeuroTransformational Coach and do individual coaching around the gap between intention and impact as well.

And here’s an honest part of who I am right now - In the last two years, I moved across the country, started rebuilding my business and a community from scratch, coordinated moving my mom (who lives 2,000 miles away) into skilled nursing, and continue to be reminded that life can throw things at us that we don't see coming. So when I say I understand what it feels like to carry a lot, I mean it.

My own experiences are what inform the work I do, whether in coaching leaders or creating equine-assisted experiences to support people with personal leadership.

Research on horse-human interaction has found measurable physiological effects when people are around horses, including changes in heart rate and heart rate variability. Horses are animals of discernment who read the emotional state of everything around them, and spending time in their presence can help your own system settle. Sometimes the fastest way to slow down is to stand next to a calm, 1,000 pound animal who has no agenda for you.

Every coach needs a sidekick. Ginny Telego's just happens to have four legs, fabulous hair, and absolutely no interest in protecting my ego. 😂🐴

That’s actually a pretty good representation of the work we do at The Collaboration Partners.

Great coaching and facilitation create opportunities to notice what’s really happening, not just what we think is happening. Horses are particularly good at this. They respond to our clarity, energy, direction, and congruence with immediate, unbiased feedback.

No titles. No office politics. No judgment.
Just an opportunity to notice, adjust, and try again.

Because insight is valuable, but what you do with that insight is where change happens.

Have you noticed that people, especially younger generations, are rediscovering something wonderfully low-tech: simply gathering. Book clubs, run clubs, game nights, time together with no agenda at all. 🙌

Organizations wanting to increase and maintain employee engagement need to notice what's happening with this.

Maybe we don't need more ways to connect through technology. Maybe we need to remember what real connection FEELS like.
