This might sound strange coming from a creative person…

…but more ideas are not always the answer.

A lot of crochet sellers are stuck in constant creation mode:
new patterns,
new products,
new ideas,
new collections…

Meanwhile, they haven’t fully identified what’s already working.

Profitable sellers tend to get very clear on:
• what consistently sells
• what’s profitable
• what customers return for
• what they can realistically sustain without burnout

Creativity thrives much better inside clarity than chaos.

What’s one product in your business that customers come back for again and again?

Social media visibility is amazing.

But visibility alone doesn’t build a stable business.

One of the biggest differences I’m seeing in profitable crochet businesses right now is this:
they’re building relationships beyond the algorithm.

Because followers can disappear overnight.
Platforms change constantly.
But your email list?
That’s a community you actually own.

Even a simple email strategy can create:
• repeat customers
• better launch sales
• stronger customer loyalty
• more consistent income

The money is often in the follow-up.

Do you currently have an email list for your crochet business? 👀

The crochet sellers who are still thriving right now are not necessarily the ones working the hardest.

They’re the ones adapting strategically.

They’re simplifying.
Building systems.
Tracking data.
Creating repeatable products.
Building customer relationships beyond social media.

And honestly?
That’s encouraging.

Because strategy can be learned.

What do you think has changed MOST in the handmade market over the past few years?

05/26/2026

A cluttered booth doesn’t always feel cluttered to the person who made everything.

But to a customer?
Too many options can create confusion instead of excitement.

One of the biggest shifts successful sellers are making right now is simplifying:
• cleaner displays
• stronger collections
• clearer branding
• easier buying decisions

Sometimes selling more starts with showing less.

Have you ever realized a booth felt “too full” after setting it up? 👀

05/25/2026

A sold-out market doesn’t automatically mean your business is healthy.

This is one of the biggest mindset shifts I’m seeing among profitable crochet sellers right now:
they’re tracking actual profit — not just sales.

Because exhaustion is not a business strategy.

And honestly? Many handmade sellers are working incredibly hard without fully understanding where their money is actually going.

The good news is that this can absolutely be learned.

Which do you track more closely right now: revenue or actual profit? 👀

Heads up, Etsy sellers — especially my crochet pattern designers. 👀

Etsy recently updated its personalization guidelines, and one detail caught my attention:

They now explicitly state that the personalization field should not be used simply to require buyers to acknowledge that they’re purchasing a digital product.

So if your shop currently says something like:
“Type YES to confirm you understand this is a digital download…”

…now might be a good time to revisit that setup and make some adjustments.

I know many sellers added those fields in an attempt to reduce refund requests and confusion (totally understandable), but Etsy appears to be drawing a clearer line around what the personalization box is actually intended for.

This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t clearly communicate that your item is digital — you absolutely should. But moving that messaging into your listing photos, description, listing video, FAQ section, and automated messages may be the safer long-term approach.

As always, platform rules evolve. Staying proactive now can save you headaches later. 💛
