Tampons Do NOT Stop Life-Threatening Bleeding From Gunshot Wounds!

Let's clear up a dangerous myth: tampons are not an effective treatment for a gunshot wound. While tampons are designed to absorb menstrual blood, they are not designed to control severe traumatic bleeding. Trauma experts emphasize that stopping hemorrhage requires direct pressure, proper wound packing with gauze, hemostatic dressings when available, and/or tourniquets for extremity injuries, not simply absorbing blood.

The problem with the "tactical tampon" myth is that absorbing blood is not the same as stopping the source of the bleeding. Severe gunshot wounds can involve damaged arteries and deep tissue injury that require pressure on the bleeding vessel and rapid medical care.

Facts save lives. Myths don't. If you're building a first aid or emergency trauma kit, carry proven bleeding-control supplies and get trained in hemorrhage control.

Did you know that there are three different types of e-bikes?

Class 1: Pedal-assist only, Max 20 mph.

Class 2: Throttle and pedal-assist, Max 20 mph.

Class 3: Pedal-assist only, Max 28 mph. Requires a helmet for riders under 18; minimum rider age 16. Restricted to streets/highways.

If it exceeds 28 mph and/or has more than 750 watts of power, it is an e-moto. These require a driver’s license, registration, and insurance. They are prohibited on bike paths and sidewalks.

Please remember to wear your helmet - regardless of class!
