🌳🌀 Storm preparation starts with your trees!
With Hurricane Isaias on our doorstep, we want to share a few reminders to help you prepare and know what to do if tree damage occurs:
1️⃣ Take before photos. Photograph your trees, yard, fences, driveway and home before the weather deteriorates. Having a record of your property’s condition can help document storm damage.
2️⃣ Address tree concerns early. Dead limbs, broken branches and trees that concern you deserve attention before strong winds arrive. Schedule professional help today.
3️⃣ Hire LOCAL contractors who stand behind their work. Choose a company you can reach after the cleanup is finished and not just someone passing through after a storm. Ask for proof of insurance, a written estimate and a clear explanation of the work included.
4️⃣ Put safety first after the storm. Keep people and pets away from leaning trees, hanging limbs and uprooted trees. Stay clear of downed power lines and any trees or branches touching them, and report them to your utility company.
5️⃣ Document damage before cleanup, when safe. Take photos from a safe distance and keep estimates, invoices and receipts. If you plan to file an insurance claim, contact your insurer promptly and ask about your coverage and documentation requirements.
6️⃣ Be patient with storm cleanup. Dangerous situations take priority, and weather and access can affect scheduling. We know your property matters and appreciate your patience.
