Water Street Solutions, Inc. WE HELP FARMERS NAVIGATE THE COMMODITY TERRAIN

Water Street Solutions’ nearly 30-year history has provided agricultural leadership to operations, helping farm leaders strengthen the business of their farms. Focused on education and leadership, we are committed to partnering with our clients as they guide their operations into the future. In 1994, Darren and Becky Frye founded the business that would become Water Street Solutions and Water Stre

et Advisory. Darren grew up on an innovative family farm in Illinois, where his passion for crop production fueled his desire for agriculture. In 1987, Darren and Becky decided to leave the family operation and focus on leading growers in the areas of fertilizer distribution, crop consulting, and eventually, commodity marketing. Today, Water Street Solutions serves farmers across the Midwest – advising operations through the challenges they encounter while expanding and improving their farms.

• The USDA and APHIS have confirmed that a calf in Texas was found with New World screwworm, the first time the pest has been present in the US since 1966. The USDA and the Texas Animal Health Commission are taking immediate action, including
establishing a 20km infested zone implementing quarantine, expediting sterile fly release, and upping surveillance in the local area.

• The line of communication between the US and Iran is not completely shut off, according to Iran’s foreign minister in an interview with Lebanese media, but he added no progress
has been made. Reports from Iranian media claim a US naval ship was target in the Gulf of Oman, which has been refuted by US CENCOM. The Wall Street Journal reports President Trump will end the ceasefire if Iranian forces kill Americans.

• The crush complex continues to be supportive for soybeans with very strong margins, but margins have pulled back significantly from peak levels and deferred months see even smaller margins. Policy support, such as 45Z tax credit guidelines, could further
strengthen demand for crush, or trade deals with India and the EU with preferential market access for US soyoil.

• Weather models have rolled forward wetter than previous runs, bringing more moisture to the central and northern Midwest. Coverage in Indiana and Ohio is expected to be more irregular. Rains are also anticipated in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska within the next 36 hours. Weather in the US is viewed as non-threatening, for now.
