Summer travel tip: protect your tech like itās part of your luggage, because it is.
Whether youāre heading across town, across the state, or across the country, your devices are carrying more than photos and playlists. They may also hold work emails, passwords, financial apps, client information, business files, and access to your accounts.
Before you hit the road, keep these tech travel tips in mind:
Donāt leave devices in your vehicle.
Laptops, tablets, phones, and hotspots are easy targets for theft, even if theyāre tucked under a seat. Heat can also damage batteries, screens, and internal components faster than you think.
Restart your devices when traveling.
A quick restart can help resolve temporary issues, refresh connections, and apply pending updates to keep your device running safely.
Be careful with public Wi-Fi.
Wi-Fi at airports, hotels, restaurants, and events can be risky. Avoid logging into banking, business accounts, or sensitive systems on public networks unless youāre using a trusted VPN.
