Another rat rod out of the shop. Came in with the brass ring either epoxied and hot glued in because the ring and cap weren’t fully secured. Broke the whole thing down found factory rivets not set properly, fixed all of that.

New Englands is like no other. Helmets getting handed down like a family heirloom. Generational chiefs helmet in Satin white. ‘86 N6A in for some new white paint and internals. Kept bourkes and d ring as is to keep some of the original look to the helmet.

eBay buy gone wrong. Multiple areas of bondo and rot on the brim, under what looked like a newer paint job. Someone almost cut through all 8 comb sections cutting out the impact cap and 2 holes at the top of the crown. Fixed the structural issues. When the crown was off the brim it warped roughly 1” so had to realign the crown. 8” of skirt was replaced.

Finished product of a previous in progress post on a repair. Cut and welded wire, added new leather and restitched together. Back to Capital City Industries LLC it goes.

If one helmet could represent “Keepin’ lids alive” this would be it. This is the type of helmet I pretty much solely worked on for the first 1.5 years of doing this. Now with more mentorship on honing the skills in every area. A rat rod that’s ready for more abuse. 20 inches of new brim stitching, 3 inches of wire taken out, two good sized holes in comb sections and a lot of decay all sealed up and dressed in flat black. When the customer doesn’t want a new brim we make it happen.
