We meet some great people and some of those people leave their mark in our memories.
Years ago I was called to a house in Toledo to clean out a garage. I met the woman who showed me what she wanted to get ridnof. We made small talk as I worked. A little while later her husband arrived home. He was a MOUNTAIN of a man 6'6 350lbs solid muscle, long hair, and tattoos. By the looks of him, he could bench press semi trucks. He stuck out his frying pan sized hand and Introduced himself as "Pony". I made small talk with him as his wife went to make dinner. I asked him about his nick name, he said " I'll show you when you're done". I finished up and help took me inside to lay me and show me how he obtained his nickname of "Pony". He took me i to the spare bedroom and showed me the largest my little pony collection I have ever seen.Pony walked over and grabbed one of his ponies from a shelf and started brushing its mane.
I witnessed the joy the little ponies brought to this man.. Whenever I was in the area, I would drop by and say hi to Pony. We became pretty good acquaintances. I remember when his wife called and told me that he had passed peacefully in his sleep. Today on a job, I found a my little pony toy and instantly thought of my buddy Pony.This one's for you Pony.

We spent Friday evening with some of the Toledo area's best and brightest people and businesses/owners at Toledo City Paper "Best of Toledo " awards reception.
