Courson Archaeological Research

Courson Archaeological Research Archaeology is our passion!

We are a research entity that studies the full range of prehistoric and historic period societies that inhabited the Southern Plains and adjoining regions prior to Euroamerican settlement. With this broad range of interests, which spans early Holocene foragers to Anglo buffalo hunters of the late 1870's, we are interested in understanding the variability and continuity underlying adaptations to
the region.

We had a great trip to the Pioneer West Museum in Shamrock, Texas yesterday! We were able to view and document a collection of prehistoric artifacts that the museum recently acquired and we had a wonderful visit with museum director De-An Turner!

The museum is closed right now because we are getting a new porch. It is going to be absolutely beautiful! I am so excited to see the finished results!

Today, I had the opportunity to visit with Lisa and Scott Brosowke from Perryton. They are with Courson Archaeological Research. They came to look at an arrowhead collection that we had just recently received. I learned so much interesting information from them today.

Thank you again for coming, Scott and Lisa. I truly enjoyed our visit. Take care. ☘️🙂☘️
