Primary Elections are being held across New Jersey on June 2, and the NJFMBA is proud to endorse several candidates who have proven they support our mission, our members, and the best interests of New Jersey’s firefighters, EMTs, dispatchers, and first responders.

Election season brings plenty of noise, and not every political attack tells the full story. We encourage our members to understand who the NJFMBA supports, why we support them, and to be cautious of misleading or inaccurate attacks designed to distract from the facts.

Earlier this month, the NJFMBA May Monthly Meeting was held at the New Jersey Firemen’s Home. We want to sincerely thank the staff and residents for their hospitality and for welcoming our membership once again!

A major highlight of the meeting was the unanimous vote to welcome our newest local into the NJFMBA family, Local 439 – North Haledon Communications. We are proud to officially welcome them into the organization and look forward to their involvement and representation moving forward!

We’re now looking ahead to our June meeting at Forest Lodge, which will be followed by the 2026 Annual NJ FMBA Mario Rossi Memorial Picnic. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time through your Local Representative or online at https://www.njfmba.org/picnic.

These meetings continue to bring locals together, share important information, and keep members actively engaged in the issues impacting our union across the state. Hope to see everyone there!

🏆 Congratulations to Captain Jordian Aquino and Battalion Chief Frank Rezes! 🏆

The members of Perth Amboy Fire Department Local 258 would like to congratulate Captain Aquino and BC Rezes on their outstanding performance at the 2026 RPS Jersey Rumble in Newark, New Jersey.

Both members demonstrated the dedication, discipline, and work ethic that they bring to the firehouse every day, earning 1st Place finishes in their respective weight classes. Their commitment to excellence extends far beyond the fireground and serves as an example of the physical and mental toughness required in our profession.

We are proud to have these members represent Perth Amboy Fire Department and Local 258 both on and off duty.

The 2026 Mark A. Virag Memorial Fishing Trip is officially open for registration, and we are asking for your support to help make this year’s event a success.

This event benefits the Mark A. Virag Memorial Cancer Fund and continues to bring together FMBA members, supporters, and the community for a great day on the water while supporting an important cause.

We are especially looking for sponsors this year. If your Local, business, or organization is interested in supporting the event, now is the time to get involved. Sponsorship support helps us continue the mission of the fund and make a meaningful impact for those battling cancer.
