We are a full service auction house located in quintessential Peterborough, NH, servicing our local community and beyond.

Our focus is creating a comfortable space for buyers and sellers to access the auction world whether they are new to the process or experienced auction goers. We believe the world of art, antiques, jewelry and collecting should be accessible to all interested; furthering the history and sustainability of antique and vintage pieces. We welcome any questions or interest regarding how to sell or buy at auction and offer five ways to bid based on the comfort of the individual. All auctions are preceded by a week of open gallery preview hours for buyers to feel, see and experience each piece in person. For those less local we offer video chat and additional information and pictures per request. Whether it's a whole estate or a singular piece, complementary auction appraisals are always available either in person or through email or text message.

John Webber, R.A. (1751-1793) Boats of the Friendly Islands; original hand colored soft-ground etching; observed, drawn, etched and published by Webber. Published in London in August 1791, as one of a series of etchings from the voyage. To be sold in our November 15 auction; catalog in production, coming October 25.

Webber served as the official artist aboard the HMS Resolution on James Cook’s third voyage of discovery around the Pacific in 1776-1780, where he became the first European artist to contact a number of Pacific Islands, including Hawaii and Tonga, depicted here and referred to as “The Friendly Islands”. Webber, Cook and his crew spent eleven weeks there in the spring and summer of 1777 before setting off for Tahiti and beyond. Webber famously witnessed and sketched Cook’s demise on the shores of Kealakekua Bay in February 1779, and upon return to London, his sketches were engraved and published in the Admiralty’s official account of the expedition. Webber hand-colored and published a set of his own views of the South Seas between 1787 and 1792, with the view above published on August 1, 1791.

Some beautiful and functional glazed ceramic pieces by Vivika & Otto Heino (1910-1995 & 1915-2009), made in the late 1960’s when the couple were working and living in Hopkinton, NH, before their move to Ojai, California. These piece, as well as others from the Heinos and the terrific Beatrice Wood fish vase, come from the private collection of one the Heino’s apprentices from this time.
