Meter pit left in bad shape💦

For a service to be turned on, there must be some at the residence to confirm the home is not leaking. Locations that only have meter pits and not curbs are turned on and off at the pit. Evidently, this pit was left off until the meter and regester was replaced 👍

Some meter pits do not drain well and retain water, and some don't retain water and drain as intended. Meter plates are cast iron and are designed to break if the meter ever froze. These meters are designed to be water proof but not submerged in water 100% of the time.

Hydrant rod and seat repair💦

One Hydrant was out of service over the winter. With the right tools, and help from LB Water Service, Inc., the rod and seat were removed and revealed evidence where the hydrant was not sealing properly and leaking water.

Parts like the drain lever and rivets are to be replaced the insure the efficiency of the hydrant sealing during use and draining after use👍

Meter reconstruction💦

Depending on the standard operating procedure per municipality/distribution system, the meter is owned by the water company, but the customer is responsible for inspecting the status of the meter and service line. Below is a very corroded meter plate that was submerged under water in a meter pit. The plate leaked and calculated this leak as use of water.

Finally completed 👏

With aeration chambers emptied, clarifiers cleaned, air lines repaired, and contact chambers washed this waste plant is ready to be filled and running at 100% capacity again! 💦

These plants will continue to be emptied and cleaned on a four year cycle to insure each plant is running with the highest efficiency 👏

The purpose behind emptying and cleaning aeration plants is to remove all non-organic solids from the plant that cannot be further processed.

Part of the cleaning process is washing all of the grit from the inner walls. Pressure washing has been the simple and effective solution for cleaning every chamber without introducing soups or cleaners to the plant that could potentially affect the effluent and the environment. All of the washed away material is then vacuumed out and left in a drying bed 💦

That concludes the repair and install of this dual serviceline install! 💦👏

SOME jobs require larger machines. Hiles Excavating, LLC has been the go-to resource for excavation and labor since the start of KMM. One vac-trailer sometimes isnt enough🥴

Aeration system plants circulate air throughout the system to aerate both chambers and supply return routes from the clarifiers back to the aeration chambers💦

Maintenance such as valve replacement requires the system to shut down and stop aeration. This valve lasted since 1984(est) and was replaced shortly after👍

Last steps for maintaining and repairing these aeration chambers.
