Good morning Heritage Families,

I hope this post finds you in good spirits and enjoying your summer! Like many times, I find myself relaying old news since word travels fast in Snowline and within our Heritage community! With this post, I would like to introduce the new Principal of The Heritage School, Mrs. Debbie Arbizu! Mrs. Arbizu comes to Heritage from her latest role in Snowline as the Assistant Principal at Pinon Mesa Middle School for the past 4 years. Debbie has been a long time Snowline colleague as she has been with us for 30 years after a 3 year stint in the San Marino school district. Debbie has 18 years of elementary experience including 15 years at Pinon Hills Elementary. She also taught 10 years of middle school ELA, History, & Reading lab at Pinon Mesa Middle School before serving as one of our District Wide instructional coaches. As that role ended, she transitioned to her current role as administrator. Mrs. Arbizu brings outstanding leadership, a positive collaborative attitude, a commitment to hard work, and a great sense of humor to Heritage. Mrs. Arbizu will start work at the end of the month and the office will open up for business on Monday, August 2nd!

Good evening Heritage Families,

With mixed emotions, I would share with you the news that there will be a new Principal at The Heritage School starting in August, 2021. At the June 22nd Snowline School Board meeting, it was announced that I now have the opportunity to serve in Snowline in the role of Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Administrative Services. Although email is never the best way to deliver this type of news, please know that I am sending my heartfelt thanks to all of you for working closely with me for some or all of the last 8 years that I served as The Heritage School Principal. Although I am excited for the opportunity to grow as a professional, next year will be the first time in my 29 years of Snowline experience that I will not be working at a specific school site with great students, staff, and parents such as we have at Heritage! I look forward to supporting all of the Heritage community in my new role at the Snowline District Office.

In my experience in the Snowline District, this email may bring old news to you as you may have heard this already from other sources.. The likely next questions for all of you may come relative to the timeline and next steps for selection of a new Principal for The Heritage School. In talking with Dr. Holman, Snowline Superintendent, we both agree that this selection is our top priority to ensure a great start to the 2021-22 school year! As a result, The Heritage School Principal position was advertised today and the hiring process will conclude with the approval and announcement of the new Principal at the July 13th Snowline School Board meeting. I can assure you since I just went through a similar process, all candidates will have gone through a rigorous and multifaceted process to ensure that we select the right leader of our great school!

I will end this post with the same message I gave my staff, I truly believe that I am a better leader and a better person because of my experiences at this dynamic school. I will miss all my day to day interactions with students, staff, and parents at Heritage so I intend to visit Heritage as often as I can! I look forward to seeing our incredible school thrive next year and in the decades to follow!

I am so proud that we had many entries into both contests this year! I believe that taking a risk is essential to growing up and I am proud of the Eagles that took this opportunity to grow!

Good afternoon Heritage Parents,

Thank you for supporting your students this year during what has been arguably the most difficult school year in most of our lives! To celebrate the efforts of you and your children, we have conducted a random drawing today to select students to receive prizes that were donated to us through community partners. The criteria to be entered into the drawing are simply attendance and participation in school! In order to split up the prizes, we randomly drew prizes for different age groups -TK-2nd, 3rd/4th, and 5th-8th grades. The selected students will be invited to the office tomorrow to pick up their prizes. If your child is an all remote learner, we will make arrangements for you to come to the front office to collect all prizes.

Due to the quantity and quality of the prizes, we randomly drew most of the prizes from August 17th to May 14th window of attendance. We also kept a few prizes back in order to conduct drawings to recognize all students who finish the school year on a strong note. We will have three more drawings for the weeks beginning May 17th, May 24th and June 1st and distribute prizes accordingly! The office staff will take pictures of all of our winners and notify parents! I am excited to reveal our winners tomorrow and continue to look for outstanding commitment to Heritage success through the remainder of the school year.

Good morning! Welcome to Thursday!

Late last night, all Pine Fire (Pinon Hills area) evacuation orders in the Snowline JUSD boundaries were officially lifted. The evacuation center at Serrano HS was also closed. This means that all schools are open today and district-wide operations will function as normal.

Many thanks must go to the approximately 500 firefighters on the ground and in the air who fought the fire so effectively. I am grateful for their efforts and look forward to another great day of learning for all.
