I recently went to the UPenn Masters of Applied Positive Psychology Summit- such a special time to be with my people and get inspired (along with approx 2 million hugs ❤️) ! One of my favorite parts of this annual event is hearing from the researchers leading the way in well-being/flourishing research. More content to come that was inspired by them and others!
This year, we heard from:
One of my favorite professors, Angela Duckworth (!!) who shared about her upcoming book that adds beautiful context and agency to the concept of Grit. Please enjoy the photo of us that I snuck 😂😬
Tyler Vanderweele, the leader of the Human Flourishing Program at Harvard about their latest work globally.
Julianne Holt-Lunstad, the lead scientific editor for the U.S. Surgeon General’s Advisory on Loneliness and Isolation under Vivek Murthy!!!, about the importance of framing the current issue of loneliness so that we can have the best public policy outcomes.
Of course our beloved Marty Seligman about what he’s been thinking about in relation to AI and well-being!
We also had the most delightful virtual well wishes from many of my favorite researchers 🤗😭 who were visiting lecturers in the program: Jane Dutton, Barbara Fredrickson, Isaac Prilleltensky, Barry Schwartz, & Chris Feudtner.
And a slew of other brilliant alumni (along with the most recent alums presenting their posters for this year’s capstones!!!).
If you’ve read this far, your reward is knowing that last photo is a picture of all of the MAPP alumni named Syd or Sid ❤️❤️❤️❤️.
