Greenbriar Golf Co.

Greenbriar Golf Co. A collection of our travels to some of America’s finest. The logo has various meanings behind it - the tree, flagpole, and thirteen stars.

From top courses to hidden gems, it is our mission to find great courses, meet new players, and grow the game of golf. Greenbriar Collective originates from the name of the street, Greenbriar Drive, where you will find LedgeRock Golf Club, the 'home course' of Eric and Sam, the two founders. The tree represents the eastern hemlock, Pennsylvania's state tree, the red and white flagpole pays homage

to LedgeRock's candy cane flags, a staple to the club, and the thirteen stars on the flag represent the City of Philadelphia, where Eric and Sam currently reside. The culmination of these bring out the true meaning of who we are and from where we came.

Tucked just across the road from Augusta National Golf Club, Augusta Country Club offers a completely different kind of test. Classic, understated, and steeped in history, it’s a course that doesn’t try to overpower you, it just quietly exposes every weakness in your game.

Rae’s Creek winds its way through the property here in a more natural, unpolished form than what you see next door. It comes into play often and forces you to think your way around from start to finish.

It may sit in the shadow of its famous neighbor, but Augusta Country Club holds its own. A pure golf course that rewards control, patience, and smart decision-making throughout.

In early October, we had the chance to take a spin down Golf House Road and tee it up at one of our absolute favorite places… Merion Golf Club. Located just outside of Center City Philadelphia, Merion is revered for its deep history and traditions, but after experiencing it firsthand, it’s clear that the magic goes well beyond its past. There is simply nothing else quite like it.

Despite being nestled on a relatively small plot of land, the course never feels crammed. Each hole stands on its own, demanding precision, creativity, and respect. And the finishing stretch? As good as it gets in golf!

If you ever get the chance to tee it up at Merion, the obvious answer is an easy yes. And whatever you do, don’t skip the peanut butter, jelly, and bacon sandwich at the turn.

Tucked into the rolling hills of Central Pennsylvania, Lancaster Country Club might just be one of the most underrated championship courses anywhere. A William Flynn design that’s equal parts beauty and bite…. and right in our backyard.

We’re lucky enough to call Josh Saunders, Director of Grounds, a close friend! Josh is the winner of the EJ Marshall Award, which he was awarded after hosting the 2024 U.S. Women’s Open. Every year he puts up with eight of us for the Yoshi Invitational - a day full of bad jokes, questionable swings, and great company.

This year we got to play the Highlands Nine along with the Old Course, and it was an absolute blast. Huge thanks to Josh and his crew for keeping the place in unreal shape year after year.

If you get the chance to play, say yes. It’s timeless, challenging, and endlessly satisfying.

The Creek Club in Locust Valley, Long Island, is an esteemed private golf and country club that exudes the essence of classic American golf design. Established in 1923, The Creek’s course was masterfully crafted by Charles Blair Macdonald, one of the pioneers of American golf architecture, alongside Seth Raynor. The course itself offers a timeless blend of traditional design elements, with Macdonald’s iconic template holes—such as the Redan, Biarritz, and Punchbowl—gracing the layout, making it a must-experience for golf purists.

This is one of the most enjoyable walks in golf and there is something incredibly special about cresting the hill and seeing the Long Island Sound. The Creek offers a challenge to seasoned golfers, but is also very playable for everyone else. This might be one of the most underrated golf courses in the country and gives any course a run for its money. The Creek is pure golf, fun and an escape from the chaos of the busy city. If the opportunity presents itself, don’t pass it up. Also, get the Southside with a floater.

National Golf Links of America, located in Southampton, New York, is one of the most storied and prestigious golf clubs in the world. Founded in 1911 by Charles Blair Macdonald, widely regarded as the father of American golf course architecture, the club was his visionary project to create a masterpiece inspired by the great links courses of the British Isles. Each hole at National Golf Links is modeled after classic golf holes from Scotland and England, incorporating timeless design principles that challenge golfers while showcasing the natural beauty of Long Island’s rolling terrain.

What sets National Golf Links apart is its unwavering exclusivity and historical significance. The club maintains a very private membership, composed of a tight-knit group of individuals with deep ties to the world of business, society, and finance. National’s revered reputation comes not only from its association with Macdonald’s genius but also from its limited access, creating an air of mystique. Its status as one of the founding members of the United States Golf Association (USGA) and its role in hosting the inaugural Walker Cup in 1922 further solidify its place in golf history. If you get the chance to make the trek out to the Hamptons, this is a must play!

Kinloch Golf Club, located right outside of Richmond, Virginia, features world class conditions, unbelievable hospitality and an experience that is one of the best in the country. They call it, the Kinloch Experience.

Designed by Lester George and renowned amateur Vinny Giles, the 18 hole parkland layout tests the scratch golfer while also providing an enjoyable experience for the less polished player.

After a cancelled 2020 Mid Amateur, the Club was fortunate to receive the nod from the USGA to host the 2024 Mid Amateur Championship. Evan Beck, a Virginia native, capped off an inspiring week with a more than impressive 9 and 8 victory in the final match.

If an invitation to see the Club comes your way, don’t pass it up!
