A few of my top education/IEP tips! 💡📚

👩🏼‍🏫 Before finalizing the IEP, consider observing all potential classroom placements. This is your time to ensure your child will be in an environment that will provide learning and social opportunities while meeting their needs.

📝 Remember, you're a vital part of the IEP team. Take the opportunity to ensure the parent input section reflects your requests, concerns, and any other pertinent information about your child's education and development.

🎙️ Maintain open lines of communication throughout the school year to prevent surprises and foster a collaborative environment between you, your child's educators, and support staff. Effective communication is essential for success.

📑 Keep a record of all interactions with teachers, whether it's through in-person meetings or phone calls. Follow up with a concise email summarizing the conversation. Remember, if it's not documented, it didn't happen!
