Premier Catalog Auction Closing January 31st & February 1st @ 10:00PM

Lot 247. Pot Lid, ‘Perfumers H.P. & W.C. Taylor Philadelphia’ / (classic scene of General Washington crossing the Delaware) / ‘Washington Crossing the Delaware’, (Jackson BJ-199), (Ball #207), Pennsylvania, ca. 1875 - 1878, white glazed pottery with a highly detailed multicolored transfer, 5 1/8” in diameter. About perfect. Probably produced for the Centennial of the American War of Independence held in Philadelphia in 1876. Very few of these colorful and historically important lids are known to exist and it is considered by both American and English collectors to be the most important and desirable of all pot lids. In 1991, A. Ball chose it to be on the dust cover of his book ‘The Price Guide to Pot Lids’.

Premier Catalog Auction Closing January 31st & February 1st @ 10:00PM

Lot 206. CONCENTRIC RING EAGLE Flask, (GII-76), New England Glass Works, ca. 1815 - 1825, clear green with yellowish tint quart, pontil scarred base, sheared and tooled lip. About perfect (a pinhead in size flake is off the inside edge of the lip and a few spots of wear are on the Eagles breasts). Rated as being extremely rare and because of its unusual form is highly sought after by flask collectors and the tiny mentioned flaws take nothing away from this important flask!
