::FRIDAY SHOP UPDATE::
Happy Friday, everyone! Hope you all had a good week. Here’s a quick look at what’s been happening on the bench and what’s coming up next week.
-Hybrid Chassis Builds
One Temperance and one Odin’s Anniversary hybrid chassis were assembled and pre-wired today. Both needed a bit of brass weathering to get the finish where I wanted it.
The Odin is moving along, but the Temperance is in a holding pattern until more 16650 batteries arrive. Assuming those show up on time, both should be finished by the middle of next week.
I’m particularly excited about the Temperance. The little focusing ring in the crystal chamber came out great. It’s a pretty small detail, but the concave shape of the resin piece gives the bottom of the chamber a really unique look.
-Null / Nova Rev Orders
I have one Null Rev and one Nova Rev slotted for assembly and installation next week.
For those of you still waiting on your hilts, thank you for your patience. I know waiting on a commission isn’t easy, especially when you’re excited to get your saber in hand.
I’ve recently started working with a manufacturer to have these parts machined rather than sourcing them from several different places, including TCSS and 3D-printed aluminum parts. This should help streamline the process, improve consistency, and make a real difference in turnaround times going forward. It’ll also make life a whole lot easier on my end.
-Blasters on the Bench
I’ve also got a few blasters coming up in the queue.
First up is a pair of Westar-35s in Sabine Wren configuration. I’ve spent quite a bit of time testing different paints to get the orange and blue looking right, and I’m hoping to get the painting done toward the latter half of next week. After that, they’ll move along to installation.
I also have three A180s slated for builds and installs. Those will most likely be in the prep stage next week.
-Other Installs & Shop Projects
There are a couple of other saber installs on the schedule for next week, too, so there’ll be plenty to keep me busy. Unfortunately I won’t have a Sunday Tierfon Timepiece offering, but I will make up for it with two next weekend. Both will have a slight SW nod in the build……
-The Terminus
The Terminus is still in production! I’m hoping to have another update on that project with Leon soon. More to come when I have something worth sharing.
One small scheduling note: I’ll be heading up to Vermont tomorrow morning to get the house ready for winter and take care of a few things up there. I’m planning to return to Philly on Tuesday, which unfortunately means losing the first half of next week in the shop. I’ll be picking things back up as soon as I’m home.
Lots going on behind the scenes, and I’m just continuing to work through the queue one project at a time.
