As a matchmaker, I can tell you one of the biggest reasons so many amazing men and women stay single:
It's their checklist. It's NOT compatibility, aligned values. chemistry, emotional availability, aligned life and relationship goals, etc.
For example:
This week I sent a woman a profile of a genuinely great guy who was mutually aligned with similar interests, life and relationship goals, values, etc. He is successful, kind, handsome, funny and family-oriented.
Her response?
"I'd meet him, but in my perfect world he'd be Catholic, be 3 years younger and 6' or taller."
And there it is. The mythical "perfect world."
Meanwhile, the real world is full of wonderful humans who might be 5'8", Presbyterian, bald, divorced, or incapable of assembling IKEA furniture.
Somewhere along the way, people started believing they should get 100% of everything on their wish list:
✔ Tall
✔ Rich
✔ Attractive
✔ Emotionally available
✔ Funny
✔ Successful
✔ Great family
✔ Loves travel
✔ Loves dogs
✔ Loves kids
✔ Loves your friends
✔ Great in bed
✔ Never annoys you
✔ Texts perfectly
✔ Reads your mind
The truth? The happiest couples I introduced didn't get 100% of their checklist.
They got someone who was 80-90% of what mattered and they were both 100% committed to building a great life together.
Stop looking for perfect.
Start looking for wonderful.
Because every year you spend searching for the last 10% is another year you miss out on someone who could have made you incredibly happy.
