Here’s what to do instead:
✅ Start a candid 1:1 conversation — not accusatory, just curious
✅ Ask what support they need, and listen carefully
✅ Review their responsibilities and document key processes
✅ Evaluate your bench: who else can step up if needed?

And if they do decide to leave, take the high road.
