Healthcare has built extraordinary capability, but care existing ≠ care being accessible. While complexity in healthcare is inevitable, confusion doesn't have to be.

A service can exist, a provider can have capacity, and a program can be fully funded, and a patient or caregiver may still have no idea how to reach it.

That’s why we believe healthcare access needs to move through a fuller progression: Availability → Accessibility → Orientation → Agency

Care becomes more accessible when people can understand:

• Where do I start?
• What fits my situation?
• What options do I have?
• What happens next?
• What do I do if this path doesn’t work?

When people have that orientation, they gain greater agency and the clarity and confidence to take the next meaningful step.

We’ve seen this firsthand through our work helping bring BH Navigation to life in Yakima County, where the opportunity wasn’t simply creating another behavioral health resource.

It was helping parents and caregivers understand the resources already available and find a clearer path forward for their child.

In our latest blog, we explore why the next evolution of healthcare access is not only making care available, but making it easier for people to find, understand, and navigate.
